What are your criteria when you upvote for products? 🔼

Without the fact that someone asks me to upvote, I usually give my votes in these situations: – I need to like the product. – It has to be valuable in my process (e.g. video creation), or related to my hobbies or niché. – I usually upvote without being asked in that situation. (Indeed, some products that "don't ask me" to pay them attention, get my attention.) How do you approach the upvoting system?

For me, it's all about fun! If a product is engaging, creative, or adds an element of excitement to my routine, it's definitely getting an upvote. It's all about enjoying the process and finding things that bring a smile or spark curiosity!

It's important for me to see that the team was ready for the launch and was able to clearly explain their product. Because there is no desire to vote for a team that is not even willing to spend time presenting their product to the community.

To be honest, I only consider products for Upvoting which: 1) I understand the use case 2) Is in my domain (education) 3) Relevant for my daily use professionally and personally What gets my Upvote is the care taken to project the product to the stakeholders which includes the PH community.

Hi Nika, I upvote.... - If I like the product (& have a personal use for it), or... - If I can see a unique benefit for the product (to people, the planet or business), ie it fills a gap - & videos & images help in this process

For me, key criteria are: 1) Is it solving a real problem in a novel way? 2) How polished and user-friendly is the UX/UI? 3) Do the founders seem passionate and committed to their vision? 4) Is there strong potential for growth? If a product checks those boxes, it earns my upvote! đź‘Ť

For me, I upvote products that solve a real problem in a unique or compelling way. I look for thoughtful, well-designed products with clear value propositions. Bonus points if the founder engages meaningfully in the comments! I also tend to support fellow indie hackers and makers shipping cool stuff. 🚀

Honestly it's a combo of factors for me - how creative/unique the product is, if it addresses a real need or pain point, the quality of the execution, and the team behind it. Extra points if it uses cutting-edge tech in an innovative way. But at the end of the day, it's gotta be something I'd actually use myself or recommend to others.

personally, I simply upvote products that fit one of the below criteria: - i find it beautiful - i found it useful for myself - i think they could be useful for others - even when product are in alpha version or feel clumsy, if i like the idea behind the product and it is worth to keep developing the product, i support them to give feedbacks to the makers that, from my pov, they are on the good way to do something wonderful in essence, all the products that make life better and that deserve to be spread :)
