What are your expectations from launching your products on Product Hunt?
Business Marketing with Nika

Preparing for the launch is quite difficult - having everything tip-top in terms of technology and marketing. I understand. Everyone is trying to win.
But sometimes I feel that people have exaggerated expectations from the launch of the campaign. As if it would save their entire business.
What do you expect from the product launch on Product Hunt?

Usually, the min target is to get 1-3 Products of the day. Though the PH launch is a great source of high-quality traffic and leads.

The indirect effect of a producthunt launch can be massive. Producthunt can be what kickstarts the snowballing momentum you need. But it depends on what your launching. Garden variaty products wont achive this. Unique snow flakes on the other hand. 🚀
@busmark_w_nika For sure. But product hunt is like compressed air. It can give your DIY rocket the initial lift of. Then you're on your own. too the moon 🌙

I would expect to get feedback so we can upgrade our product.

@busmark_w_nika Haha thank you. Great to see another person with such pain. I believe this problem is universal for anyone using sheets!
Launching on Product Hunt offers the unique opportunity to gain visibility among a community that values innovation, allowing us to connect directly with early adopters and gather invaluable feedback. It's a pivotal step in our marketing strategy, aiming to create buzz and drive user engagement right from the start.
For my upcoming launch, my main expectation is to find out how much the product resonates with PHs target audience of tech-curious people, startups, founders and investors.
It is not our core customer base but part of it, so launching will hopefully provide some clarity & feedback here.

I'm looking for feedback on the app.
In my experience, a Product Hunt launch helped validate our product and attract early adopters.
However, it wasn't a silver bullet for sustained growth.
Ringly.io
I expected to get the first users today (I'm launching today!) and we've had 5 people create a free account so far.
There's also been a lot of website traffic. Next to the launch we are just building organic assets as the building blocks of Ringly.io.
So I don't think PH launch will save it, but it has certainly helped up till now! :)
Ringly.io
@busmark_w_nika Thanks!! Btw, we now have more legit upvotes and comments than many featured products, but we're not featured🤔. Do you have an idea how? We asked Product Hunt but they just said "the algorithm decides".
Ringly.io
@busmark_w_nika All of a sudden we're featured now🎉
Free Testers :DD, joking aside it's all about new user base, New feedback and a foundations for a community. truly a great way to start creating the most meaningful part of the product. people who care about it!
Ringly.io
@demetre_mildiani1 Widgera looks great! I'm notified! ps. ringly.io is live today your support would help us out a lot
In my opinion, the key lies in the product you're launching. A solid product generates the following it deserves. This is my first launch here on PH, and I have no idea how it will go. Will the product measure up? Uncertainty is part of this profession. What I do know is that we've put our hearts into this project, and regardless of the outcome of this campaign, we'll have learned so much to draw from in the future. No expactations, just lessons.
@busmark_w_nika Since you're the queen of Product Hunt, I'd be very interested in getting feedback on the platform we're about to launch. Shockwave is a social media marketing platform, and our mission is to help brands and creators significantly increase audience engagement on social media through gamification mechanics and social farming. All by leveraging the power of competition, rewards, and visibility as motivators.
Having been in the PH environment for so long, you've surely seen many excellent products hit the market. What do you think of this one? Thanks in advance.
@busmark_w_nika Our intent was to create an MVP in the shortest time possible to validate the idea with the market; YouTube is there. We haven't linked it to PH, but if we were to find a positive response in the community for this type of feature, we will consider implementing it. As for the video, we wanted to try to create a "cool" video, like a commercial spot. Do you think we didn't succeed in this regard? I'm also not fully satisfied with the video, but it was our first experience. The good thing is that we have learned how to handle it better now.
@busmark_w_nika The video is available on the landing page. I noticed that you've joined the waitlist, and I thank you very much for your support. The video is just below the "Join the Waitlist" button. Given the interest you've shown us, it would be of great value if such an influential person here on Product Hunt would like to follow the platform's page. Tomorrow is the launch! I'm looking forward to feedback on the video. Thanks for everything!
I expect the Product Hunt launch to boost visibility and attract new users, but I don't think it will magically solve all our business problems.
@busmark_w_nika I agree with you that's why all of us are here for our products but there many more things we need for our business to grow further.
I think a lot of people want the badge and social proof, we're competitive and PH is so gamified, so we get it.
However, the main goal is to get as many people to try our product as possible and give honest feedback!
@busmark_w_nika to getting real feedbacks and enough exposure/traffic for the website with a hint of paid clients wont hurt :D
Well we are launching today! As this is my first time ever launching on Product Hunt, I'm just really hoping for good feedback on our tool. Really want to know how people use it and how we can improve to make it better.
@busmark_w_nika trying to post my link but I keep getting an error message. My co-founder is posting it now.
Just launched my first product and my main expectation is to gain as much feedback as possible. Hopefully, create a community of people interested in the product and then build an ecosystem of other products having at the base the same theme: marketing and optimization
When we launch I hope to get a bunch of feedback quickly so we can iterate and reach product-market-fit faster!
@oam_founder Makes sense Hamoun! Curious - as a founder who's in stealth do you still try to contact users for private user-studies and if not how do you decide on product roadmap/feature lists?
@busmark_w_nika I think the product hunt OG's is where you get the good stuff! People signing up for an upvote is great for getting your product noticed by the OG's. That is where I believe the real value is!
@yukioyama 100% - we have a waitlist from reaching out directly to our network. Started w/ some base assumptions with the goal of validating them from day one. The first 10 customers are always the hardest but hopefully if some of the foundational assumptions are winners then you have something to work from. Making products is hard, but being successful will be even harder if you do it all without getting market signal as soon as possible.
@oam_founder @busmark_w_nika Thank you for pointing that out! When we started we talked about PH being our n.1 platform to post, but now I see excatly what you said. We have now switched to other social platforms and spreading the word of our product organically. We are still going to launch here, but our expectations have loewerd quite a bit.
@oam_founder makes sense! What are your go to's for a market signal indicating PMF? Know this is the million dollar question haha but curious abt ur take
We want to get genuine (also critical) feedback on our product and test our hypothesis about the target audience, so we can review our positioning and fine tune our product roadmap
@busmark_w_nika for example, that in-house marketers in saas businesses would love to build backlinks to their sites themselves rather than outsource it and that they're ready to try out a new platform that gives them this opportunity
Real people to see our real products.
