What did your parents want you to be professionally and what did you become?

As a Swede with Vietnamese background I had several professions that I could choose from - lawyer, dentist or doctor 😂 And as you can guess, I chose neither. Instead I worked at McDonald’s starting when I was 16 and then entered sales. I completely fell in love with the art in the whole sales cycle from prospecting, first meeting, negotiation to closing deals. The only part I truly hate is to update the CRM haha My parents still wonder what I’m doing with my life and when I’m going to start to study to become something “real”. For me, nothing is more real than being able to do what you love. On Monday, together with my team, we will launch a tool that helps sales teams to get more replies from their cold email and Linkedin outreach campaigns. You can guess my excitement in helping the ones sharing my passion to book more meetings through my help. So tell me! What’s your story?

A few different things, until I was in my mid teens they truly thought I'd make it as a soccer player as did my local club but I got bored of playing and probably wasn't actually that good haha. They never really wanted me to be anything they just saw my interests and thought I would be something, lawyer and software developer were two but they were happy with anything I chose to do as long as I was and my mom being a chef before was excited to see me become one.

@aaronoleary I guess that's how it's suppose to be like! A chef buildning apps sounds really cool :) What kind of project are you working on?

Well, as I recall, my parents didn't want me to tackle a particular profession. Though they supported all my hobbies, and I appreciate it so much as it gave me diverse experience. Now I am marketing gyal 🙈
Haha))) same here: my parents don't know what I'm doing AND they just can't understand how I'm working completely remotely🤯 So, yeah, I was supposed to be a teacher but I am a digital marketing specialist.

My dad wanted me to continue his work and become a photographer. He wanted me to make money from it. I tried it, realized that I didn't want to make money with it and left and began to develop in the IT direction At the same time, I have not stopped taking photos, sometimes I take pictures on film
