In Guul, we have an environment to chat about video games that make our team more bonded. Which team-building activities are powerful to increase engagement in the remote workplace?

Hi Enis 👋🏽
My current team works to a hybrid model so a lot of of our team-building activities are done in-person.
In my previous role though, we were predominately remote and one of the best rituals we had in place was a Friday morning "Sunshining" session where we all connected via zoom for a very casual chat with zero formalities, to share our wins and what energised us during the week, as well as any fails or things that had really drained us. The conversations during these sessions were always very authentic - some weeks people were bouyant, other times people showed up still in their PJs and cried. Whatever state you were in, you were invited to just show up and be yourself, and folks always left the zoom feeling heard and like we were "all in it together". It was a great team-building and trust-building initiative.

Cooking classes work brilliantly, either in person or remotely. We had an awesome team building day when we went Tree Trekking while carrying a bucket of water. The team with the most water at the end won. 🤣
I think anything that makes the team laugh and enjoy each other's company is great team building. Sometimes its the smaller ideas that work best
Team building is not just a one-time event, but a continuous process that happens on a daily basis. I start with gathering the team members and talking to them about what they enjoyed most about their last company. Approaching this conversation in this way allows each individual to offer feedback to the other members and hear what others are looking for out of their next role. At the end of the conversation I share some ideas on how we can make our next work environment even better.
When planning your next team building activity, follow these 5 easy steps to ensure your event is a success.

We have been running virtual team events since 2020. We find that all businesses vary for what they want to achieve.
However most of the larger companies, like Microsoft and MoneySuperMarket, tend to run a virtual team session every two weeks. Some are quick fire quiz games but most run via apps with Teams or Zoom being run along.
To keep it fresh, we have developed 30 teams game here. https://www.funktionevents.co.uk...
Would be interested in your thoughts on whether we are missing a few activities that you think would go down well with remote workers.
