For me they feel like the developer knows it has a limited lifetime and wants to get some extra money out of the customer. I can relate it to Lifetime access to an MMORPG. I know several have used this type of price point to great success, but eventually players move on and the game becomes obsolete. At that point service usually ends as the servers are shut down. Long way of saying I am positive the people who stayed in the game from the start to the finish got their monies worth with the lifetime sub, despite it effectively ending at some point. I assume for lifetime pricing in SaaS it will be the same, some will get their value and some won't. However using it as a predatory tactic to get more money, especially if you the entrepreneur know you only have a run-ways of X months is a shitty thing to do to get more money from new customers. This is all just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt, I have no data to really back it up. Keep Comfortable! @iamkenn lol thanks! I wish I could accept the congrats, but it's been a huge fail so far to be honest! I will most likely need to make a post mortem on what we think we did wrong. πŸ˜…
