I’m sorry this is a long one but I promise it would be easy to read. I have always been a business person since I was young but I fell in love with tech product 2010. I was always on a Nigerian forum called “Nairaland”, i was stun on how a lot of people used the platform and how one person product could be so useful,. So I decided to solve a problem that would make my product impactful to people lives and this is the beginning of the struggle of endless anxiety, tears, rejection and failure.🥹🥹🥹 I was entering my first year in the school of architecture with no tech background but I had read so much about non technical founders so I knew I stood a chance and this lead to my first product called: Alketecture: it was an online platform that allowed African Architect showcase their designs and get feedback from people all over the world. You can call it the Behance of Architecture. It failed after two years. It wasn’t a shock though, I had 7 co-founders😂😂, none of them were tech savvy we were all architect and we had to use our feeding money to build and maintain the platform. New Lead: After “Alketecture” everyone in school knew me as the “founder guy” so someone reached out to be about a product called “New lead” it was a tool that allowed various student learn various software that is useful in their field, software like: Autocad, 3D max, archicad and the likes. We built the product but we couldn’t sustain it because of funding. Empowertheceo: This is a voting platform that allow people vote with money for the next big CEO and the money is giving to the winner to support his or her business, it failed due to wrong timing. Foodr Eats Inc: This was a food delivery platform that allows users order food powered by a AI tool. We could only raise 10k in one year despite our huge traction and I was using my salary to fund the business and at some point I ran into huge debt so I had to face my day job. Grinders: This is an artisan marketplace where people search and find local artisans around them. Call it the Thumbstack of Africa. It is still running. Tobs : This is my new venture, it’s a gift box app that allow users create and customise gift boxes and also select items they want in it. The designs they have done will be physically delivered to their recipient. Launching here very soon. What have you built and what are you building?
