Will the future of coding really be no-code?

85% of enterprise companies are already using no-code applications in their tech stack. While I don't see the future 100% no-code, 85% is a pretty compelling number...

No, and that's a good thing. There is no such thing as coding without...oh well...coding, the closest thing to that is visual programming or scripting, and that's just a mess of noodles connected together and all over the place, while by code it would've taken like 2 lines. There is no need to dumb down things for the sake of no-code, instead, we should push to motivate people to learn to code. Of course, there are problems that need solutions, because the manual task is tedious, requires a lot of knowledge in things that don't align with whatever you're trying to achieve, or would take too long for anyone to waste time on. Specific no-code solutions to specific problems are welcome if the output is qualitative. Here I can list a few examples that could benefit from a no-code tool - Web animations - Websites - Niche game genres (JRPG, Rogue-like, etc) I'm sure there are more, but you get the point.

Completely agree. I can totally see a future where a company such as Bubble dominates the dev market and where all of us would be able to build our own apps. This is still way down the line of course, but it seems more possible as time goes on

Fun fact 👇 You will be surprised how many new companies are out there whose name is a combination of the words code/no/low/some random word 😄

In my humble opinion, the future of software is a harmonious balance between no-code and traditional coding methods. It's all about finding the right tool for the job and leveraging each approach's strengths to create the best solutions possible.

I'm incredibly excited about the concept of “the future of software is no-code”. It opens up so many new possibilities for everyone, from avid coders to curious beginners. With no code tools readily available, users can conceivably develop almost anything with a few clicks! For me, this means that more time and energy can be allocated for complex projects instead of spending days on menial coding tasks. It’s amazing to realize that too much choice isn't really possible anymore when discussing software platforms—the future lies in no-code technology!
