Prepare for your launch at least 6-8 weeks in advance.

@vladimir_zivkovic any tips on launch preparations?

@vladimir_zivkovic what if you've been building, building, building, and you want to get your product out the door to have first-mover advantage? I'm working on something that I'm afraid to wait that long to launch... I can see it being worth taking the time to prepare, and to talk about the upcoming launch with people, but I really don't want someone else to launch a similar product before I do.

@vladimir_zivkovic ok great, we are doing that
If you miss your mark in a specific KPI, try to catch up with another. For eg, you might not end up in the top 3 products of the day. But getting about 300+ page visits and 30+ leads? That's still good compensation.

@senthil99nathan yeah I think our KPI would be related to leads rather than how popular we are on PH

Share the story behind your product and provide value beyond self-promotion.

I advise you to launch on Wednesday - Thursday, there is a greater influx of people.

Product Hunt is an amplifier not a launchpad. Don't launch until you have at least 500 subscribers/customers.

@arnau_ayerbe twitter is the #1 thing, make a twitter and follow 20 people from the notion creator niche and start engaging with them. the number one thing you need to do first is become a great reply guy to the people who already have a following. once they take note of you, dm them and make a friend! then, start to allude to your drop via dms and replies and posting previews for it. eventually (week or so), schedule the launch on here and engage with others on product hunt (so they can see the "launching soon" thing by your name. then tweet TF outta it and dm it to your friends (in a non shill way).

@ashenone Can you be more specific? I'm launching my first product this week and not sure how to market :$

Prioritize building a passionate community around your product from day one, engage with early adopters, and listen to their feedback to fuel your growth on Product Hunt and beyond
