We attended Web Summit for the first time last year and here's our advice:
- Get to know where you stay
- Prepare to stand out
- You never know who’s paying attention
- Time passes by at Web Summit, fast
- You’ll have a tough time selling at Web Summit
- You’ll leave Web Summit with new connections

For first-time attendees at Web Summit, I'd recommend planning your schedule in advance to prioritize key talks, networking with people in your industry using the Web Summit app, and bringing plenty of business cards, but also leave some time for impromptu meet-ups and exploration of the event.

As a first-time participant at Web Summit, my advice would be to strike a balance between comfort and professionalism. While it's essential to dress appropriately, don't underestimate the power of comfort. Opt for attire that allows you to move freely and focus on the event's content rather than the discomfort. sweatpants, for instance, can be a great choice for a casual yet relaxed vibe. Enjoy the summit!
