For my company https://www.faye.xyz, I find revenue as a north star metric too generic. Problem is that it's hard to derive a strategy from revenue. It sounds counterintuitive but our northstar metric is a formula. Since Faye is a SaaS we will monetize using a subscription models. Our northstar metric = Traffic x Conversion Rate x Average Customer Value - Churn. Each segment can be optimized on its own, while the overall company direction is still intact.

@samuel_tf_lam The formula you mention sounds like a number that can track, so it still looks like revenue, I like the break down of the formula so each member can find their roles and make a positive impact on the Northstar.
