I use Publer to write and schedule posts for all my social media channels. It saves me a lot of time and effort. I've recently written about how I use it https://techboy.medium.com/puble...

Hi Alex, Short answer: Be where your audience is. In-depth answer: The choice of the social media platform for marketing your product will depend on where your audience is, what type of content they prefer and so on. I have tried to breakdown of some popular social media platforms and their suitability for various scenarios below: ➡ Facebook: Audience: Widely diverse user base. Suitable For: B2C and B2B businesses. Useful in building brand awareness and engage with a broad audience. Strengths: Robust advertising platform, excellent for visual content, and offers detailed audience targeting. ➡ LinkedIn: Audience: Professionals and businesses. Suitable For: B2B SaaS products, networking, thought leadership, and lead generation. Strengths: Effective for building industry authority, sharing industry insights, and connecting with decision-makers. ➡ Twitter/X: Audience: Varied but there are plenty of use-cases where B2B and B2C companies use it to leverage large its user-base to build brand awareness and make connections. Suitable For: Businesses focusing on real-time engagement, customer support, and quick information sharing. Strengths: Excellent for sharing updates, participating in trending conversations, and connecting with a global audience. ➡ Instagram: Audience: Younger demographic, visually-driven. Suitable For: SaaS products with strong visual elements, lifestyle branding, and influencer partnerships. Strengths: Ideal for showcasing product features, behind-the-scenes content, and user-generated content. ➡ Pinterest: Audience: Predominantly female users interested in lifestyle and visual content. Suitable For: Products with strong visual appeal, DIY solutions, and creative use cases. Strengths: Valuable for content discovery, DIY tutorials, and driving traffic to your website. ➡ YouTube: Audience: Video enthusiasts and learners. Suitable For: Explainer videos, tutorials, and in-depth product demos. Strengths: Excellent for storytelling and providing in-depth information. ➡ TikTok: Audience: Young and highly engaged users. Suitable For: Brands with creative, short-form video content. Strengths: Great for trends and viral marketing. You can even go further and consider platforms like Snapchat and Reddit to target and attract younger, net-savvy audience. To conclude: It's essential to conduct audience research, understand your product's unique value proposition, and align your choice of social media platform with your marketing objectives. Additionally, consider the content format that works best for your product, whether it's visuals, videos, blog posts, or a combination of these. Regularly monitor and adapt your strategy based on performance analytics to maximize your marketing efforts on the chosen platform. Hope it helps!

I would say there is no right channel for marketing because it depends on the context of your product I see a lot of founders launch their AI diet meal plan app on ProductHunt...I'm like 'Why would you do that?' I mean your target audience is not hanging out on product hunt for sure so why are you launching on product hunt to get your customers? First figure out who your target audience is and list all the places where they might be hanging out. Think: - groups/forums - Influencers they follow - Online websites where they hang out - social media channels they subscribe to Then try to study their content and figure out how their messaging is so you can take inspiration from it and then get customers!

I think it depends on your business. Twitter and Linked are great for B2B. Almost all platforms are suitable for B2C.

Linked in for b2b 🧐

I too believe that linkedin is more suitable for B2B. It also offers great options for ads and sales leads tracking and its users are mostly familiarized on B2B products. Twitter should be a natural first option for B2C it is more direct and has more reach to various generations. If your product is more tech oriented and focuses on web 3 elements, then Discord is your best bet. If you are targeting for a younger audience, then TikTok has certainly its appeal and the same is true for instagram. Just my two cents

In Ukraine, Instagram seems the most suitable for marketing social media software. I'd even say that sometimes it seems more marketing than social. :D

Based on my experience, different social media software cater to different needs. But for B2B, it is undoubtedly LinkedIn!

Let's look like this. The best social media platforms is where the audience is. So, if you are a marketing person for a SaaS platform that is serving a GenZ audience - you should get more in-depth in platforms like Snapchat or TikTok. Or if you are a marketing person for a media company that is serving a C-suite audience, you should understand the power of Linkedin or even Facebook. So, the best social media software for a marketer is wherever their audience is.

@katairobi Thank God someone answered it the right way! I absolutely agree you should go where your target audience is already hanging out and meet them there!
