Who do you think is the best fit for the initial team of your startup - freelancers, employees, or partners? And why?

The ideal initial team member for your startup is a co-founder who aligns with your product vision, possesses a strong work ethic, and complements your skill set. Their strengths should fill gaps in your expertise, whether technical or non-technical, ensuring a well-rounded foundation.
I believe that freelancers might lack long-term commitment/vision alignment, making employees a better choice for building the company.

@james_sukosd True I resonate with that,
But what if you can't find suitable Co-founders?
and employees are a big commitment, would you substitute an outsource company for an employee?
@suchback YCombinator co-founder match is great place to look if you can't find someone in your network. If you are technical it's pretty easy to find a non-technical cofounder. If you are non-technical it is a bit harder but you have to do the work (build mockups on figma, create a plan, etc) to show that you are serious.
Yes employees are a big commitment and you should only take on employees when you are ready for them (you can afford it or you have a stream of income).
A big problem with outsourcing is quality control. If they are cheap the quality won't be that good. I've seen instances where people contract out their development and the code comes back bloated, but the owners have no clue because they have no dev skills. Also when issues arise they or the next contractor can't fix it easily because the code is a mess.
With that said the things I would contract out at the beginning are:
- Logo design;
- UI/UX design (but give them the wireframe/low-fidelity mock up);
