Who else thinks that AI is just another FAD that will die out like chat bots? 😬

Is it just me or is AI massively overhyped and most products claiming to use AI don’t actually use it 🤔 Reminds me of the 2010 chatbot and 2020 video conference movement, where only a few startups actually became dominant and everyone else died off. (PS: please don’t use ChatGPT to answer this question 😂)

hahaha connecting an API and adding AI to the name. I do think this hype will slowdown. People are surfing the trend verbally and this will stop but the usage of AI will continue. It's an amazing way to add leverage to your product.
@othmane_khadri Surely that’s just another acronym for an API-first startup lol My question is, do people see through this bullshit, like I want to puke from all the fake ai startups being launched on PH🤮
AI is here to stay, my friend🤖

Launching soon!
Did you hear AI JayZ on YouTube. it's his best song ever. AI is a fad 😂 I thought so too until I heard it.

AI isn't a fad. It's a 70-year-old concept that has experienced gradual progress for decades and is now accelerating at a pace that has the world's top experts talking about the existential risk it could bring with it.

I disagree. It will be just like the COVID-19 epidemic. It's now endemic and the vast majority of us have some immunity. The same will be the case with AI in 5 years.
@alex_todd agree to some extent, but even for example dallee by openai has been around for more than two years, there wasn’t as much hype around ai until chatgpt4 came out. And then all ‘fake ai’ startups just followed suit and jumped on the hype train. Same was with zoom, chatbots, site builders, web1. It’s a bubble that will eventually burst.

@timcha, yes the frenzy will die out for sure. I expect that almost all applications will incorporate some level of AI (as we are) and it won't be a unique differentiator, thereby diminishing the need to promote it.

Although some people may think that artificial intelligence is just a fashion trend, this is far from the case. AI has already shown its potential in various industries, such as healthcare, finance, marketing, and technology. However, to get the most out of AI, you need to be able to effectively manage machine learning models and ensure their security and reliability. The MLOps approach, which allows companies to build, deploy and scale machine learning models with greater efficiency and security, helps. Many such companies already exist, for example devopsbay. DevOpsBay is a website that provides information and tools for DevOps process management and MLOps. They help companies build and manage the infrastructure for machine learning models and optimize model development and deployment processes. Using MLOps can help companies get the most out of artificial intelligence and create more efficient and robust machine learning models.

AI is hype, but it is real. After trying ChatGPT extensively and integrating GPT API into my personal project, I am pretty sure the technology is here to stay and will change how many industries operate. Even seeing how much it got integrated into the daily life of my friends and colleagues, I am more than sure it's going to stick.
