Why do you take call notes or recordings?

Like in the case of quantitative data, call recordings + notes themselves have limited value (usually as a record of what happened).
Typically we use them for something else, like:
(1) Aligning stakeholders
(2) Tracking progress
(3) Surfacing insights + analyzing them
(4) Sharing findings with teammates
Curious to know - why and how do you save call data (recordings, transcripts, written takeaways, etc.)? What do you do with them after a call?
