Blogging allows for longer, more detailed content that can attract readers interested in specific topics, while social media marketing is limited by short posts and relies on algorithms for visibility.
I'm not sure it's "better" it's just part of the marketing mix. People have different ways they consume content. Some prefer video to reading...perhaps the better question is; what does your potential customer value and prefer?

Blogging and social media marketing serve different purposes, and neither is inherently better than the other. Blogging offers in-depth content, improves SEO, and establishes authority. Social media marketing provides real-time engagement, broad reach, and diverse content formats. The effectiveness depends on your goals, target audience, and the nature of your content strategy. Integrating both can create a powerful marketing approach.
Blogging provides more value and authenticity compared to social media marketing because it allows for long-form content creation and deeper connections with the audience.
Problem: Struggling to consistently create engaging and SEO-optimized blog posts that drive traffic and conversions.

Is blogging better than social media marketing a given?
I'm interested in other people's experience, which one brings better traffic for your business, organic SEO traffic from blogging, or social media?
I think it depends on your target audience and where they hang out. I've seen social media marketing work a treat for B2C products - whether physical or digital. We have a B2(small)B and blogging works way better for us.
@taibabosnic1 Yes agree for B2B blogging works better than social media
It probably also depends on your clientele.
@trumpeter and what if when you are building your own product?
If you ignore SEO, your SaaS is asking for trouble. It pays to focus on SEO now rather than play catch up later.
Here's why:
Fewer conversions = less money
Are questions unanswered? No sale.
Increase quality of traffic vs. quantity because they are actively searching for it.
Paid search costs more, especially without a way to capture their contact info on organic content - your marketing budget is toast.
Most low-ticket offers aren't worth running paid ads to because your profit margin is diminished.
@marc_bovenzi Yes you are right marc Skipping SEO is like leaving money on the table, it's key for long-term conversions and budget-friendly marketing.
I never knew this
I think both can be powerful when they work hand-in-hand. You should blog about topics you're passionate about and answer questions that come from experience. Social media marketing can help you then break the blog down and put it out as thoughtful pieces of discourse.
