  • Why makers ghost you when its their time to return the favor?

A trend I am seeing lately and also experiencing myself. Some makers will reach out to you on X/ Twitter, LinkedIn and Product Hunt asking you to support their launch and in return they will support your launch. You happily show your support and cut to the day when its your launch, they ghost you :) Is this a new trend? Or am I late to the party?

Ugh I've experienced this too. Some people are just takers, not givers. My advice: be selective about who you support, and focus more effort on building genuine relationships vs transactional 'I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine' deals. The real ones will be there to help you out when it matters most.

Life happens. People get busy. Ideally they should never ghost, but it's a weird culture we are heading towards, where ghosting is getting normalized. I try not to do that.
