Ordinary People Prompts
As always - it will not necessarily substitute their work but enrich it.
If the definition of developers is someone to do templates no.
To resolve more complex issues and make customize products will be a gadget more for being more productive.

Good for some generic codes for now but we always need devs for customised code.
Probably won't. It might make entry level dev jobs harder to find, but it'll mostly be used as a tool rather than a replacement
@richard_gao2 Make sense! entry level stuff can be managed quickly with the help of ChatGPT
Not yet, perhaps in the future. ChatGPT-4 looks very powerful from the rumors circulating around about it.
@mahad_kamran Agreed! looks like just a hype

AI-generated code may seem like a convenient solution, but it is unlikely to completely replace human programmers. While AI can automate certain repetitive tasks, it cannot fully understand the nuances and complexity of a user's needs. Additionally, the true challenge of programming is not just the typing, but the ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems. Even less skilled developer teams may still require human programmers to achieve optimal productivity. Furthermore, non-programmers may not fully understand their needs, which makes it crucial to involve UI/UX experts to ensure a successful outcome.
I don't think it will really take over their job but it may reduce the time taken to produce boilerplate code. The development would be faster and more focused on using the AI properly for which developers would have to upskill a bit and they would learn way faster than a non-developer.
ChatGPT is a tool that can assist developers in tasks such as code generation, text completion, and natural language processing. It is not intended to replace developers but rather to aid in their work by automating certain tasks and providing them with suggestions and insights. It is ultimately up to developers to decide how to use ChatGPT and other similar tools in their work.
