Would you go for a midrange phone or a flagship phone with top specs?

Smartphone technology has kind of plateaued with fewer new and exiting features coming up, and midrange phones getting pretty decent these days. With that said, do you still prefer to get a flagship phone to get the best of features out there, or do you prefer something in the midrange? I used to go for flagships until recently when I moved to midrange. And my current phone is a midrange phone.
