Bing gets DALL-E 3

Tis the season for tech events. A week after Apple hosted its September iPhone event (see here, here, and here), Microsoft held its Surface event and here are some things across hardware and AI that you might have missed.

A more powerful Surface Studio 2: Microsoft finally pulled back the curtains on its Surface Laptop Studio 2. It starts at $1299 and comes packed with a new Intel Gen i7 processor and 64 GB of RAM. Like its predecessor, it has a full-tilt screen, so you can use it as a traditional laptop or a tablet.

A new Surface Laptop Go: Microsoft’s portable line, the Surface Go, got a bit of a spec upgrade with the Surface Laptop Go 2, which the company claims makes it “88 per cent faster”. It comes with a 12.4-inch screen, a touch ID button, and weighs under 2.5 pounds.

Bing đŸ€ DALL-E: You might have seen OpenAI announce DALL-E 3 during the week. It got a lot of hype, ending yesterday as the number-one product. There’s even more good news. Microsoft is adding the DALL-E 3 powers to Bing’s chatbot. For free.

A new Copilot: Microsoft announced a new Copilot experience for Windows 11. The new AI companion will be “seamlessly available across all the apps and experiences you use most.”

A new Surface Hub: Finally, Microsoft announced an upgrade to its all-in-one digital whiteboard-style computer. The Surface Hub 3 now comes in two sizes (50 and 85 inches) and supports smart rotation and portrait mode.
