GOOD MEWS

Hi, hi, hi. Welcome to Thursday. In today’s digest, I’m covering a new Vision Pro app cofounded by the Director of MIT’s Virtual Experience Lab — so you know it will be good. But first…

The headlines:

📡 You’ll soon get your broadband from space if this company has its way.

📸 Instagram will blur nudes that are sent to minors in its latest update.

📹 Google launched a new AI tool for video creation workflows.

🍎 Apple has warned customers in 92 countries that they may be targeted by spyware attacks.

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT
Even staring off into space can be productive with this Vision Pro app

Have you ever found yourself sat down, staring at a blank wall? Maybe you’re daydreaming, maybe you’re in deep thought, maybe you’re imagining your next big startup, the features, the designs, the team you’ll assemble to build it with you.

Human imagination is powerful, really powerful, but it can only get you so far. In the past if you wanted to make your thoughts stick, you’d have to write them down but in the world of spatial computing, it’s a little more intuitive.

Mind Studio launched this week, co-founded by Dr Cagri Hakan Zaman, who was most recently the Director of MIT’s Virtual Experience Lab. Mind Studio is like a personal metaverse designed to help elevate your thinking and learning abilities by turning your surroundings into an interactive canvas for organizing your thoughts with sticky notes, graphics, websites, and more.

It works based on rooms, which you can have multiple of. You can customize each room by dragging and dropping content from other apps and anchoring them on to walls, tables, screens, etc.

Say you’re brainstorming your next big feature. Rather than whipping out sticky notes (which are still good by the way!) you can instead boot up Mind Studio and customize your environment for peak brainstorming. You can drag and drop designs you might want to review on to one wall, customer feedback onto another, and maybe a Notion doc on another before pulling up a chat with your team to relay your thoughts.

You can even customize the ambiance of your room to better suit your mood to encourage deeper productivity sessions, and if you juggle a lot, you can set up different rooms, each optimized for a different task.

I wonder if I can expense a Vision Pro so I can write this newsletter in it?

SHOUTOUTS

Linear seems to be growing in popularity in product circles, and on Product Hunt, too. It’s the most shouted out software and bug tracking tool. Makers describe it as “easy to use,” while “keeping the team in lock step.”

Here’s some apps that use it:
