Hello everyone and thanks for hunting us, Thibaud! Even though we had our first Product Hunt more than 4 years ago now, we’re calling this release “Ludus 1.0” because we’re finally feeling that the product is out of beta and ready to be used by bigger teams.
The main novelty is the live collaboration which allows team members to work together on the same slide at the same time (similar to what's possible in apps like Figma or Miro). In addition to that, Ludus now has a Google Drive integration, light/dark modes, draft/published states for presentations, improved Smart Blocks, and many performance improvements. To get the full picture of what’s included in this release, check out this blog article: https://blog.ludus.one/ludus1-is...
I also think it’s important to insist on the fact that our tool is mainly meant for creative teams looking for a limitless level of sophistication in terms of creation and collaboration (basically having all the possibilities of Figma in a presentation tool). Our goal is not (and has never been) to provide a presentation tool that works for everyone and replace the likes of PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides. There are many great alternative tools that will allow you to do that if that's what you're looking for.
Thanks for reading and have fun!
I discovered the version 1 of Ludus a few months ago and I have been astonished by the quality of the product. They manage to come up with what they expected to do : a presentation tool for creative people. I like to say that Ludus is to Pitch what Milanote is to Notion, a productivity tool designed for creative people.
Our team at Dogstudio has been using Ludus for a few years now and it really proved to be a gamechanger for us. We started using Ludus for presentation decks when giving international design talks, allowing us to have the design flexibility we need, the possibility to directly import videos in there, a full control on kerning, importing your own fonts, and now the real-time collaboration.
We know there are a lot of tools out there including the newly released Pitch which gets a ton more visibility, but we're convinced those are for two different publics, and as a design agency we need to have the most control of our presentations VS trying to get it done in a Figma not being suited for online presentations.
Definitely a tool to check and regularly use!
Congratulations on the launch @vincentbattaglia ! Ludus seems amazing. Tool integration, creative graphics! Using it for my next presentation.
Some strategic blog posts would help gain tremendous visibility to Ludus. I have some ideas in mind. LMK if you wanna talk :)
