Hey PH fam ๐Ÿ‘‹ Today, I'm super excited to bring Turf to the wider tech & startup community around the world! ๐ŸŒŽ Let's zoom out for a bit. Don't you agree that we're living in the golden age of SaaS, with new products popping up daily? And when throw AI into the mix, the sheer number of software products being created around the world is off the charts. But here's the million-dollar question: when building a product gets this easy, how do you keep your users retained/engaged and coming back for more? Enter Turf: the in-app community platform built specifically for SaaS companies. ๐Ÿš€ Why am I so hyped about Turf? Because I don't think I've seen a community product with THIS MUCH FIREPOWER in recent years. The feature set included is just impressive. You'll have to see for yourself. The best way I can describe it is: Imagine having a Swiss Army knife for user engagement. From forums to feedback boards, knowledge bases, roadmaps, change logs, academies - Turf's got it all. And the fun part? It's all wrapped up in a super simple embeddable widget that lives right inside your SaaS app. This was a very novel execution to me when I first saw it. And there's one additional power feature that stuck with me. Turf isn't just about building communities - it's about measuring their impact. ๐Ÿ“Š Turf gives you the analytics to tie community engagement directly to your bottom line. Churn reduction? User activation? Revenue growth? Turf's got you covered. I recently got a sneak peek of Turf's demo from the founders and it was incredible. The team behind it really gets the unique challenges SaaS companies face. They've been there, done that, and now they're solving a problem we've all been grappling with. Big shoutout to the Turf team (Olivier & Tim) who are here today ๐Ÿ˜€ Check out the tool and feel free to drop any comments, questions or suggestions below โคต๏ธ
Olivier van den Hoogen
@thisiskp_ Thanks for all the help! Appreciate the support and guidance ๐Ÿค™
Antoni Kozelski
@thisiskp_ Congratulations on the release of Turf! Turf understands unique problems! Great teamwork๐Ÿฆพ
Olivier van den Hoogen
@antonikozelski Appreciate it!!
Akash C.
@thisiskp_ @max_savonin1 We offer custom branding on authentication pages in our paid plans, including branding inside the community environment for all plans. We also have a free plan with limited members.
Olivier van den Hoogen
@max_savonin1 Thank you and definitely! - Yes it can! - We have a free forever plan so SaaS companies can test the platform before committing. Got it. For sure. Currently we provide an embeddable widget that can show in your existing SaaS application and reflects your community environment. We also work with SSO setups for our clients so their users won't face any auth pages or sign in/up flows. I will for sure ping you and let you know when we add the API access to all our plans and you can review it. Appreciate the support!
Meenank Minnu
Been looking at Turf and it's purely designed for SaaS companies. Fb groups are dead, I tried discord and grew to 15K but 0 analytics. It's just people with funky gaming names. - My CEO asked. I couldn't do anything and I wish I found Turf back then. Good job Turf team and yes, community is the future!
Olivier van den Hoogen
@superminnu Appreciate the support man! Let's catch up some time!
Olivier van den Hoogen
@superminnu For SaaS companies it is really hard to launch on FB groups, Discord, or Slack and drive some organic peer to peer community activity from their user base. Besides the lack of basic features that allow you to properly manage your community (like analytics, as you mentioned), generating community engagement in the first place is a big pain point. SaaS users want to be active in your community when they are using your software in real time or when they have just used it. It is very important to make it as easy as possible for users to participate in the community, in these moments. Besides that you can not centralise any other modules in your community on FB, Discord, or Slack. This creates a lack of incentive to go to your community and means people will be less exposed to your community in the first place. It really comes down to making your community the single meet point for your users.
Tim Pouw
@superminnu thanks for your support!! Its a neck and neck race for #1
Andreas Sohns
I'm impressed by the private channels feature. It's perfect for creating exclusive spaces for different user groups on internal teams.
Olivier van den Hoogen
@andreas_sohns Yes! Thanks. It could also be great for creating subcommunities or gated areas for users on a higher subscription plan or even for partners
Tim Pouw
@andreas_sohns awesome to hear that from you Andreas!
Olivier van den Hoogen
Hey everyone!! ๐Ÿ‘‹ It has been a long time in the making but I am super excited to finally share Turf with all of you on Product Hunt. Turf is a community platform for SaaS companies, that allows you to create: ๐ŸŒธ Community forums ๐ŸŒธ Customer feedback boards ๐ŸŒธ Knowledge bases ๐ŸŒธ Roadmaps ๐ŸŒธ Change logs ๐ŸŒธ Feature request boards ๐ŸŒธ Bug reporting forms ๐ŸŒธ Academies ๐ŸŒธ Technical documentation hubs ๐ŸŒธ Live chat help desks ๐ŸŒธ Online events All in one centralised hub that is completely embeddable inside you SaaS application or website with our in-app widget. SaaS companies build communities to either increase customer engagement & lower customer churn, reduce support costs, or increase user acquisition. To experience those benefits you need to be able to get your users to participate and consistently be active in your community environment. When we started out 2 years ago we noticed SaaS companies were having trouble getting their users to participate in their community environment and to measure the ROI and business impact of the community once their users were actively participating. We set out to solve this. While solving this, Turf turned out to also be a great way for smaller SaaS companies to cheaply and easily launch all their must have customer facing modules. Whether you are looking to launch a community or just want to easily build for example a knowledge base or customer feedback board, we would love to get your feedback so make sure you give it a try! ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿค™ I am incredibly proud of what the team and I have been building and am excited to finally share it with all of you! We will be available to reply to all your questions and messages, so make sure you post them ๐Ÿ˜
Tim Pouw
@oliviervandenhoogen well described, as always. Appreciate you big time my co-founder! Letโ€™s go for the 1#
Tim Pouw
It was quite a journey, to say the leastโ€ฆ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜… Starting this together with my amazing and talented co-founder Olivier 2 years ago. We were discussing some community building initiatives with other SaaS, while working at our agency, and saw an opportunity to service this market on a bigger scale. In the beginning, we were dealing with a crazy fast-moving economy, then some macroeconomic changes, Covid came in and, in the meantime, community building keeps evolving. Nowadays, we are riding the AI wave and this will inevitably change the community part, but the question โ€œhowโ€ and โ€œwhyโ€ is something we discuss weekly with a variety of relevant professionals. The beautiful thing about all this: our goal remains the same: helping SaaS companies reap the benefits of community building. That's why I'm very excited about the launch on Product Hunt. Every feedback or request to connect further in more detail is super super valuable!! Would love to hear from you!! Tim
Tim Pouw
Thanks everyone. It was quite a session so far!! Will close my eyes for a couple hours and excited to see the final results!
Stefans Keiss
Congrats on the launch! How does Turf handle user data privacy within the community platform?
Olivier van den Hoogen
@memphys_sk Thank you! We don't share user data with any 3rd parties and perform regular audits. We cover this in depth in our terms and conditions as well, so if you want to have a deeper look, it's on our website.
Tim Pouw
@memphys_sk thanks. Why do you ask specifically. We host our data on AWS and are GDPR.
Glenn McWhinney
All signed-up using your gift code โ€” thanks! The product looks very clean and beautiful so good job there. I would like to see API access on all paid plans (it's a deal breaker for me and probably others in the NoCode / LowCode community if experience is anything to go by). I'd also like to suggest adding Webhooks alongside the API please ๐Ÿ™ I'm impressed that you have allowed for unlimited members on all paid plans so thanks for that too. Other platforms use member numbers to drive people to the next paid plan which never made sense to me ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ We run digital courses as part of our business and so I'm keen to see how well Turf will support these sorts of features in the future: multiple courses, cross-sells, user permissions, course payments etc. It looks as though the Academy is the start of this side of your platform perhaps?
Olivier van den Hoogen
@theflowagency Appreciate it Glenn! Noted. We will most likely add API access together with webhooks to all the paid plans soon - valid point. Yeah the member limit thing doesn't make sense, especially for SaaS companies and the fluctuating user base sizes. Indeed! The academy feature is the basis for our future course functionality that we will be building out more in the future. We will be providing all the need courses functionality in the near future hopefully ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Glenn McWhinney
@oliviervandenhoogen Thanks for replying Oliver and that's very encouraging news indeed. You have a real shot here at being the first all-in-one platform to get it right and there are soooo many SaaS owners in need of this. I look forward to being a part of this journey with you and in the meantime, have an amazing launch day ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš€
Olivier van den Hoogen
@theflowagency Thank you! ๐Ÿ˜
Tim Pouw
@theflowagency amazing to receive your support on all different kind of platforms. A real tech enthusiast, I would say. Appreciate it!!
Konok Nazmul
This product is absolutely valuable for SaaS companies looking to boost user engagement and retention. With a comprehensive suite of community-building features and powerful analytics, it's a must-have tool for any serious SaaS business. I will definitely try it.
Olivier van den Hoogen
@konok_nazmul Thanks for the kind words! Let me know what you think after giving it a try. Would love to get your feedback.
Tim Pouw
@konok_nazmul thanks a lot!!
Umar Lateef
Congrats on your PH launch @tim__pouw @oliviervandenhoogen. I have already had the pleasure of working with the product and the team behind it and Turf is a very serious competitor in the space for startups creating communities. I wish you all the best with your launch and as ever you have my full support should you need it
Olivier van den Hoogen
@umar_lateef Thanks man! It was a pleasure to work together in the past and as always, appreciate the support!!
Tim Pouw
@umar_lateef our backbone for success ;) The flight has just started Umar. Ready to become the unicorn we have in our mindโ€ฆ Stay tuned.
Paul Richards
Launching soon!
This looks really cool, I use canny.io for customer feedback and roadmaps but this looks like it has so much more.
Olivier van den Hoogen
@paul_richards1 Thanks man! Canny is a great tool for just customer feedback and roadmaps. We really try to provide the majority of customer facing modules in one centralised environment, with community and communication between your users at the heart of it. We provide native functionality for every individual module but also allow you to just integrate your existing modules such as Canny. For Canny we also have an out of the box embed integration available for example. So your canny boards can be accessed and also live in your community environment together with all your other customer facing modules. Hope that helps!
Tim Pouw
@paul_richards1 appreciat the support first of all and good point.
Wilson Ler
Congrats on the release! Love the all in one aspect of it and finally a community that's purpose-built for SaaS. Might give that a shot when we're closer to launch ๐Ÿ˜„
Olivier van den Hoogen
@ler_ws Appreciate that! Good luck with your own launch. Let me know if you want to give it a try. Curious to hear your feedback :)
Tim Pouw
@ler_ws always looking to hear โ€œ howโ€ we can make it valuable for our ICP. Appreciate your support and letโ€™s stay in touch.
Kostya Bolshukhin
Looks clean and fresh, like it!
Olivier van den Hoogen
@kostyabolsh Thankss! Clean and fresh - the way to go :))
Olivier van den Hoogen
@kostyabolsh Nice! Definitely
Tim Pouw
@kostyabolsh cheers! Super good to hear that
Majid Izadi
Gratz on the launch, great product, tons of features, good job by you and the team. Just out of curiosity, why u chose Turf for as your name?
Olivier van den Hoogen
@m4jiz Thank you! Turf is meant to reflect SaaS companies creating their own turf (community) with our platform. On Turf stuff grows and their turf is supposed to represent their tribe/community/area that can grow into something valuable that connects their users to their brand and becomes a core part of their business.
Majid Izadi
@oliviervandenhoogen amazing, good luck today, hope you get some valuable feedback from the community
Tim Pouw
@m4jiz letโ€™s grow your Turf
Kyrylo Silin
Congrats on the launch, Olivier and Tim! Turf seems like a comprehensive solution for SaaS companies looking to build strong communities. I love the range of features you offer. Questions: - How customizable is the in-app widget for different branding needs? - Do you have any plans to integrate with popular CRM tools? Excited to see how Turf evolves!
Olivier van den Hoogen
@kyrylosilin Appreciate that! You can completely customize which channels and sections of your community you want to show in your in-app widget. For CRM integrations, we have a few pre-built that we currently enable upon request per customer. The pre-built integrations are available for every plan and will be available for self-serve in the next 3-4 weeks. Hope that helps!
Tim Pouw
@kyrylosilin this is where product hunt is all about. Thanks for the detailed questions and feedback. Would love to stay in touch and also connect on LI
Zenda
Very comprehensive! Feedback, help center and much more all I want are available. Currently, I'm using Feature to manage the feedback and roadmap of my product. I'll try iTurf to see if it can replace Feature. Regarding the community function, I'm worried that users won't actively open my community. It might be that discussions in the IM tools that users usually use would have a higher frequency.
Olivier van den Hoogen
@zenda1122 Appreciate that and let me know what you think after trying it out! Valid concern regarding the community function. We built our platform specifically because we saw that SaaS companies had difficulty with engaging their user base to participate in the community environment. Centralising your other customer-facing modules in your community environment solves this issue for the biggest part. It makes sure that users have to go to the community environment for every action that they want to perform. It makes them actively go to the community environment and be exposed to the conversations happening there. From what we've seen so far, the more modules you are able to centralise in the community environment, the more community activity you'll see. Besides that, for SaaS specifically we saw that users want to be active in your community when they are using your software in real time or when they have just used it. It is very important to make it as easy as possible for users to participate in the community, in these moments (hence the in-app widget). Hope that helps!
Tim Pouw
@zenda1122 Thanks for thinking about this in more depth first of all. Where people have worries also lies opportunities. Would love to hear from you!!
Brian Woล‚oszczak
This looks pretty cool. It's super helpful to have all our customer stuff in one place. Can it link up with knowledge bases like Intercom?
Akash C.
@brian_woloszczak, yes it does integrate with intercom.
Olivier van den Hoogen
@brian_woloszczak Thank you!! Yes it can. We have an integration available for that :)
Tim Pouw
@brian_woloszczak good to see you here Brian. Good luck with your agency!
Priscilla Zorrilla
Well done Olivier and Turf team ๐Ÿ™‚ Congrats on your launch! What a momentous day โœจ
Olivier van den Hoogen
@priskillaz Thank you for the support Priscilla! Appreciate it :)
Tim Pouw
@priskillaz thatโ€™s one thing for sure. We did more than best to become 1#
Tyrie Jamerson

Akash C.
Hi everyone! ๐ŸŒŸ I'm really proud of the platform we've put together. This journey has been incredible, and after countless sleepless nights, it means so much to hear that people not only appreciate the UI but also the core features we've shipped. ๐Ÿ™Œ We're constantly releasing new features, so if you're missing something, please let me know what you'd like to see next. ๐Ÿš€โœจ
Tim Pouw
@akash_c12 our real Day one! The future is bright!
Ivan Ralic
Love the unlimited seats approach, sounds promising ๐Ÿš€
Olivier van den Hoogen
@ralic Thanks! User bases of SaaS companies can change pretty quickly and so putting a cap on member count wouldn't be ideal. This way you don't have to worry about your user base outgrowing your community plan. Every user will always be able to join.
Tim Pouw
@ralic Good to see you here! Thanks for your support. Letโ€™s catch-up again soon!
