👋 Hello Product Hunters! I’m excited to introduce you to Amazon GlowUp, an ambitious Chrome Extension that redesigns Amazon.com from top to bottom for better shopping! I’m dc, a long-time designer and product leader, and a former executive-level designer at Amazon for 11 years. I’ve spent more time studying, improving, and innovating in the Amazon store than you can imagine, and I’ve packed more than 3,000+ of my ideas into this tiny plugin! 📖 My Story 
 Like you perhaps, I shop on Amazon a lot because it’s really convenient. They have pretty much everything, and I can usually get things to my door within a day, which is mind-blowing. Unlike you, I actually designed a lot of the Amazon store! You’ve probably seen a lot of my work without knowing it was me. Over the years as Amazon grew larger and shareholder pressure increased, it got harder to maintain a high bar and ship great experiences in the store. And as Amazon leaned into the incredible profitability of its ads business, its footprint increased dramatically, along with an outsized influence over internal decisions. Now it's hard to find a single page on Amazon without ads and sponsored products on it. 🌟 Key Features • Modernized, simplified, beautified UI Text styles, colors, menus, images, buttons, prettier icons, and lots more. Amazon’s feature teams work independently and don’t often do things in the same way. This independence helps teams move fast, but the customer suffers a pretty disjointed experience. No longer. • Ad & Sponsored Product Blocker What else is there to say? Goodbye ads & sponsored products. Just organic search results and no more upsells. “Customers who bought this detergent also streamed these Amazon Music podcasts” – what? • Dark Mode A true, hand-crafted Amazon dark mode for the first time! Rest your weary eyes when night shopping. Images and colors look great, no shortcuts were taken here. Amazon has never built – and never will build – a dark mode. The coordination cost alone of getting its hundreds of worldwide feature teams to implement dark styles consistently is a complete non-starter. • Distraction-Free Mode Oh, this is a fun one. Activate this optional mode and focus on the business at hand. No related product recommendations, no alternative offers, no distractions. Just what you searched for and what you’re buying. The homepage is a blank slate and a breath of fresh air. Get in, get out. • So much more! All product images are bigger and high-resolution. Unnecessary text has been removed. Colors are simplified (blue means deals!). Set your default search sort order (bestselling, lowest price, etc). More whitespace & breathing room so you can find things faster. Pointless widgets are removed completely (goodbye Rufus). A simpler site menu, and the footer is gone (who uses those links anyway?). Countless other small improvements in every corner of the store. 👥 Who’s It For? Everyone who shops on Amazon! Amazon GlowUp’s goal is simpler, more enjoyable, more accessible shopping for all.
