Thank you @nickabouzeid for hunting us! Hi PH – Caitlin here, co-founder and professional hat-wearer at Castyr 👋. It’s our first time launching something on PH and we're so excited to share our 2-year journey with you. Castyr is a social podcasting and listening platform, connecting up-and-coming creators with their earliest fans. 4 years ago, we launched an FM radio station to tens of thousands of listeners. While building out the station, 100s of young podcasters asked us to broadcast their shows. We believed it signaled the next era of terrestrial radio 📡: podcasting enabled anyone on the internet to host their own talk show. But 99% of episode downloads go to the top 1% of podcasters – it’s hard to discover this long-tail of (high-quality) content creators. At an average of ~45 min, episodes are also difficult to sift through. With little native in-app social features, users often end up in places like Reddit, where 2M r/podcasts users discuss and review podcasts. How Castyr Uniquely Solves These Problems ✂️ Audio Snippets: Snip up to 5 min of audio from an episode and attach notes to it 👯 Snippet Community Feed: Share your audio snippets with your followers in the Community tab and listen to the best parts of episodes curated by other users. Like and comment on your favorite snippets. 📌 Audio Snippet Boards: Organize audio snippets into customizable Pinterest-like media collections on your profile 💬 Podcaster-Listener Engagement: Leave public likes and comments on your favorite episodes or give a follow on your favorite host’s personal profile 🎧 Essential Listening Tools: Access all of your listening history, subscriptions, liked episodes, and snippets in your Library Our Asks to the PH Community 1. Create a free account! Go to www.castyr.com on your browser of choice or download it to your mobile home screen as a Progressive Web App (PWA) to have it function like a native app. 2. Invite a friend with good podcast taste to sign up (or someone in desperate need of your taste 😉). 3. Send us your thoughts in our Discord or in a comment here!
