Comeet adds video-first async meetings to your calendar. Start recording a 2min video instead of running a full meeting and let everyone contribute in video, audio or text (even if they are not users). Respect everyone’s time while keeping a human touch.
@rrhoover async first (that means not only) is changing the way we work! Thank you!

Did you know that digital is 4% of greenhouse gas emissions, and that it is expected to increase to 8% by 2025?
And that online video accounts for 67% of these digital emissions?
The time has come for digital sobriety, if we want to participate in the effort that all sectors must make to maintain life on earth.
So what do you intend to do to limit the impact of these massive and constant exchanges of short videos ?

Hi @pierre_de_gourcy! I cannot agree more about the environmental awareness. In fact, Comeet.me is a tool that is essentially remote friendly, and we think remote is a changing point in the way we move, work and live. Comeet.me is trying to provide an effective alternative to hours and hours of video calls (yes, video) with short video, voice and text conversations.

Using a default 360p/480p resolution is a great start.
And on a more extreme perspective, the latest development of Nvidia in the field is quite impressive: https://gizmodo.com/nvidia-wants...
I actually really like this concept and applaud you for trying a NEW way to do "meetings." Not everything requires a live Zoom/Meet and as someone who does multiple every day, I really like this. Going to jump in and give it a try.
Hi everyone 👋 , and thanks Ben Lang (@benln) for hunting us.
We are super excited to launch our beta of comeet.me here today, as a tool that adds video-first async meetings to your Calendar 📆
I spent more than 800 hours in meetings in 2018 (😱). We meet to make decisions, to sync with our team, ask for feedback, share our plan... but forcing all participants to be connected at the same time is a pain, especially now in remote-distributed mode.
With comeet.me just invite participants and introduce any discussion with a 2-minute video. Participants will be able to contribute in video, voice, or text even if they aren’t users.
Use comeet.me for:
- Fully async meetings. In your check-ins, to share an idea with your team, to ask for feedback, to discuss your next blog post, or to present your roadmap.
- To connect. To praise a teammate, to help a user, or to contact a lead. Connect personally with them, and build human relationships.
- As an interruption killer. Do you have 5 min for a quick call? Instead, just share a short video with your needs and let others respond when they have the time to.
- As a meeting shortener. Present the meeting goal or agenda, introduce the discussion, or just present the slides before the meeting starts to get right to the point.
We’ve been working hard for 4 months building and iterating comeet.me (thanks alpha testers!), and we are having a lot of fun using it.
🙏 We’d love to get your feedback to keep improving. Happy to answer your questions!
PS: If you want to have your first async meeting (without needing to be a user), just send me an email to llventura at comeet.me and I will create one with you (I will only use your email for that purpose).
PSS: Special thanks to @chrismessina for his valuable inputs.

Really love this idea, excited to try it out as we're building a new product. Do you support multiple google accounts? (I've got *way* too many...)
Thank you @alex_vanston. At the moment we only support one at a time. But it's something we are thinking how to properly and securely do.

Like this idea a lot, texting on slack is sometimes not enough but a zoom is too much...nice middle ground here. Will recommend this to some heavy zoomers let's see what they say.
@lluis_m_ventura , got some feedback ;). They would see the biggest value of it was an add on for slack, as usually a lot of the preliminary talks that lead up to Meetings start there, helps follow the context. Like Loom for example .
Really interesting @raijman! Our current initial integration with Slack is only for notifications, but we are discussing how to do it as it makes sense to write something like /comeet "title" @x@y to create an async, isn't it. We are thinking a good way to do it, but sure it will come! Thank you so so much!

Think this is a fantastic product idea @lluis_m_ventura - this could be hugely valuable for editorial and strategy meetings, and I definitely want to recommend this to colleagues. I notice you're currently a free product. When are you expecting that to change, and how much should your early users anticipate paying once/if you are a subscription product?
Thank you @christopher_o_donnell! Hope you can test it is useful! Let us know! Currently we are in beta so trying to get as much feedback as possible. Regarding the future, two things clear; 1. There will always be a freemium option big enough to be useful. 2. Timings will vary on different factors, not clear timings here yet.
