Actually Asked puts a FAQ section on your site, in your fonts and colours, not a chat bubble. Visitors ask their own question or highlight a sentence to ask about it. Answers come only from your pages, and the questions asked most join your FAQ.

@heypetar The Monday email with what your pages couldn’t answer is the best idea here. Those are the questions people had before they left, and most sites never see them.
@said_javliev2 Thanks! Users don't even have to open it for the FAQ to get better though.
When a few different people ask the same thing within a month, however they word it, the system groups them, writes one clean question with an answer from the learning materials (public pages, private knowledge base etc..), and adds it to the FAQ by itself.
Ask it on a product page and it shows on that product.
The Monday email is for what's left: the questions your pages had no answer to, so you know what to write next.
Congrats on the launch! Love the name and the vibes of the product... everything seems really thoughtfully considered.
For the feature that allows someone to highlight text on the page and 'ask' a question about it -- does the product allow control over where that can + can't happen? For example, it might be odd to accidentally highlight UI text in a button or navigation or something and see the actually asked UI popup to ask a question about it.
Good luck with launch day!
@_briankulp Thanks, that's really kind!
Partly, today. A selection only counts when it's 3 to 300 characters, and it's ignored inside form fields, editable text and the FAQ itself. Highlighting also never opens the popup on its own. It shows a small "Ask about this" button next to the selection, which goes away as soon as you click somewhere else or press Esc. The question box only opens if someone clicks that button.
What it doesn't do yet is skip buttons and navigation, or let you mark parts of the page as off-limits. Fair point, and it's going on the list.
Keeping a manually edited answer intact is a thoughtful detail. The weekly email with questions the site couldn't answer also gives the owner something concrete to fix.
@oleksii_sekundant Yes! And the owner doesn't have to act on it. When the same question comes from a few different visitors and the site's pages cover it, it tidies the question and the answer and publishes them to the FAQ automatically. Anything you've edited, pinned or removed stays the way you left it.
