I’m the indie developer behind ANCBuddy. I built this after repeatedly switching apps to control my QC Ultra on macOS. Happy to answer technical questions, share the roadmap, and collect feedback.
While I believe the main hook is the simple control of the headphones via Mac: I honestly like the AI Auto-EQ Feature a lot! It's so simple and really increases the quality and depth of music I listen to. It's unique (nothing similar seen so far) and makes a difference. Try it out!

What's it analyzing to tune that, the track itself or your headphone's known response curve?

Today, ANCBuddy is at the metadata-aware layer: it reads the artist, title, and album from Now Playing, uses that context to generate a three-band Bass/Mid/Treble profile, and applies it directly to the QC Ultra over BMAP. It doesn’t currently inspect the waveform or compensate against a measured headphone response curve, and no audio is captured or uploaded.
I see some exciting layers beyond that: preserving and learning the listener’s preferred baseline, incorporating model-specific response data and eventually optional on-device signal analysis with the audio remaining local.
So today it’s automatic track-aware tuning. The later layers could make it genuinely adaptive and personalized.
