I m launching AppErgo this Saturday AppErgo started with just a handful of tools and has grown into a collection of 200+ free online tools.
Before launch day, I d love to ask: what kind of small web tool do you find yourself searching for again and again? And which web tools would you find useful as small standalone Windows apps?
Hi Product Hunt 👋 I’m Sébastien, the solo developer behind AppErgo, a website offering 200+ free online tools.
For AppErgo, my original idea was to build a website for my C++ development projects. But while working on it, the website gradually expanded beyond its original scope. I started by adding around 10 small browser-based tools that I found useful myself. Those 10 tools became 150, then more than 200, turning the site into a real web toolbox.
At this stage, AppErgo has already grown into a collection of 200+ free online tools covering text, audio, conversions, time, dates, codes, games, random generators, fitness and more. This is only the first major step, and its original broader vision hasn’t changed.
The website follows 6 simple commitments for its web tools: free to use, no signup, lightweight, easy to use, secure thanks to local browser-based processing, and no intrusive ads. You can read more about them here: https://www.appergo.com/en/articles/the-6-appergo-commitments-web-tools/index.html
AppErgo is still evolving, and after working on it on my own for several months, I decided it was better to share it now than wait for a “perfect” v1. I’d love to hear what works, what could be improved, and which tools you’d like to see next. I’d also love to know what small standalone Windows tools you’d find useful, since that’s the next step for AppErgo.
Thanks for taking a look at AppErgo! 👋
