I have been a chess lover for years and love the classical play for sure. However, this game puts an interesting twist on a timeless game.
The chance mode is funny (best played after a few beers) where you never know what the next piece will be. I think it would be a perfect app for someone who is not an amateur and want to get someone who is new (kids, friends, puzzle lovers, significant others) to get interested in our day and age of low attention span. They could see it's not a boring game and it can be exciting and engaging.
Then you trick them (ahem, I mean use strategy and tactics) into slowly really appreciating the battle of wit and cunning we call chess and can go between intense battles to fun recreational play (imagine this on a large tablet in a nice day in the park).
Overall, I really enjoy the game plays and was happily surprised stumbling on quite a gem.
It would be nice if the game rules were explained and tweaked some so that strategy could be more easily taught/showed as it is a fundemental part of playing chess but I didn't pay a cent so there's that, too.
