Hi Product Hunt, I'm Aman, maker of Classmate AI.
Classmate AI is an AI tutor built only for Class 8–10 students in India preparing for CBSE and ICSE board exams, in Maths and Science.
Why I built it
My cousins are in Class 8 and 9. In a class of 30 to 40 students, they never asked their doubts: their friends would laugh, and the teacher couldn't focus on one student anyway. They'd learn a concept from YouTube, then go blank the moment they had to solve a question. For homework they used ChatGPT, mostly copying the answer down, so nothing really stuck. And my uncle and aunt couldn't help, because they had no idea what was being studied, how much was understood, or which chapters were weak.
So I built Classmate AI: a place where students can ask any doubt without anyone laughing and work it out themselves, and where parents can see which chapters are still weak before the results, not after.
A maths teacher we spoke to later said the same thing from the other side: he explains a concept two or three times, and the same student still repeats the same mistake.
What it does
• A free 2-minute check shows your weak chapters.
• Your study plan puts the weakest chapters first and skips what you already know.
• The Tutor asks you to try first and gives one hint at a time. Stuck twice? It explains, then gives you a fresh question to practise.
• Solver for a specific doubt: type it or snap a photo.
• Works in English or Hinglish.
• Parents get their own login and a nightly email showing chapters, study time and scores. They never see the chats.
• Free chapter-wise important questions and textbook solutions on the site, no sign-up.
Something we got wrong
When we looked at our tutor data, many of the students who quit left right after the tutor said "Not quite". Being told you're wrong, with no way forward, made them leave. So we rebuilt how it handles mistakes: it steps back to the basics, reveals the answer after two tries instead of leaving you stuck, and shows a progress bar so you can see how far you've come.
Pricing
Free plan with weekly limits. Premium is ₹699/month or ₹3,999/year (GST included), and every new account gets 7 days of Premium free, no card needed.
Feedback that would help most
1. Parents: what would you want in a weekly report that we don't show yet?
2. Students and teachers: when you're stuck, does one hint at a time help, or feel too slow?
3. Which board or class should we add next?
I'll be here all day answering every comment.
