This is great! Off the beaten path is almost always a better experience, in my opinion. I live in Scotland and it is full of scenic drives but I'd be more curious to see the recommended stops and suggestions. Are those user generated? Or how do you go about sourcing them?

We started Compass Maps because we got frustrated with Google Maps. Google Maps is based on traffic. It gets you to your destination the fastest way. But what if you actually have time to enjoy the ride? What if you wanted to discover the best spots on the go?
Introducing Compass Maps, the first GPS based on scenery rather than traffic, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play!
Compass Maps explained in three simple steps:
- Step 1: Enter a start location or use current
- Step 2: Select a popular route or enter a destination
- Step 3: Tap on “Start GPS” to launch Google Maps and start turn-by-turn scenic navigation
Because we know that not everybody is able to pay for every software they use, our goal is always to offer a fully functional free version. At the same time, we have to keep the lights on and that’s why we’ve decided to offer the scenic navigation to all, but limit the number of suggested stops to 3 in the classic version and 21 in the PRO version.

Thanks @josh_walker2! Compass Maps is officially supported in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the states of California and Hawaii but does work in Europe as well. Where in Europe are you located?

Thank you @ivan_khomyakov1! Yes. Compass Maps is officially supported in California but it will work the New York/Tri-state area as well. Where in California are you going? If you're not sure, look up the San Francisco -> LA route on Compass Maps, LA -> San Diego, or even LA -> Chicago for the trip of a lifetime on the Mother Road, Route 66 🙂
@johncbrandy Thank you for trying Compass Maps and sorry for the issue that you experienced. I am trying to reproduce the issue so I can submit a fix for it but I don't see your request in the logs. Also, "no sites here" is not part of the terminology that the app uses. Do you mind taking a screenshot and sending it to me? If you enter San Francisco as start location and Santa Cruz, CA as destination, what route are you getting?
