This book was recommended to me by Martin Remy, Data Team Lead at Automattic - it's been a huge help in my own Python development... development. Easy to jump right in, Joel starts with first principles and things get interesting from there! I'd recommend it for folks just getting started or folks a bit more seasoned who are looking for a refresher or a better foundation in data specific applications of Python.
