Fathom is not another finance dashboard or chat over a CSV. It turns recurring, messy bank exports into a reliable local ledger, keeps uncertainty visible, and surfaces only what still needs attention. Virtual Purpose Accounts separate where money is held from what it is for. On top of that shared financial foundation, an Advisor remembers your context, explains trade-offs, creates plans, and can take approved actions through dedicated tools.

Fathom
I built Fathom because I’m honestly not naturally good at managing finances, and most finance apps felt like another system I had to maintain.
I wanted a calmer path: feed it messy bank exports, let it build a reliable ledger, and surface only what still needs my attention. Purpose Accounts show what my money is actually for, while the Advisor already understands that financial world and helps me think through decisions.
Fathom is an early Apple Silicon alpha.
The isolated in-app demo is the fastest way to explore it, and I’ve put together a short setup guide for trying the demo or importing your own exports with Codex: https://fathom.ehrax.dev/setup/
I built Fathom for myself first, and I’d genuinely love to hear what feels useful, confusing, or still missing.
@0xehrax "keeps uncertainty visible" is the phrase that got me. bank exports are full of vague line items - a lump "Amazon" charge that could be groceries or electronics, a shared cost that's half yours - when the ledger hits one of those, does it flag it for you to manually categorize, or does the Advisor take its best guess and only surface the uncertainty if you go digging?
Fathom
@galdayan Good question. Honestly, it is a bit of both, in the way I would want it to work. A bank row that only says "Amazon" often tells you almost nothing.
Fathom handles the obvious transactions when the evidence is clear, so you do not have to review every one. If it is not sure, it does not bury the guess. The transaction stays visible in your Inbox and Transactions view, and any suggestion stays a suggestion until you confirm or change it.
You can sort it out there, split a purchase across different purposes, or simply ask the Advisor what is still open and explain how several transactions should be handled.
The important part for me is that you should never discover months later that the app quietly guessed its way into your financial picture.
