I have worked on with multiple projects that required managing and querying spatial data. We had very strict SLAs and SLOs on our application load time, and a lot of external dependencies. I tried different databases with different indexing techniques. But every fix kept failing after sometime as we grew in receiving requests. Hence I planned going with an in-memory implementation. That would help us reduce the cost of running high end databases with huge replica sets, also will help us in ensuring that we have a stable application. Once it was implemented, there was no looking back. I used this implementation in different projects that ended up serving ~42m requests per day, without inching towards the failure. Hence I created this opensource tool that aims to help everyone trying to mange their geospatial data.
