Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Nikhil, the maker of getcta.
Why I built it: Every time I recorded a video or joined a call with notes, my eyes drifted down to another window, and it showed. Teleprompter apps put the text in a floating box somewhere on the screen, and I still had to scroll it myself. The MacBook notch sits right next to the camera, so I put the script there.
What it does:
- Your script sits under the notch. Hover to peek, click to keep it open, drag to resize.
- Voice-follow hears which word you're on, highlights it and scrolls. It stops when you stop, and small ad-libs or skipped lines still line up. AirPods and Bluetooth headsets work.
- It's hidden from screen share and recordings (Zoom, Meet, OBS, QuickTime).
- AI writes a script from a topic, bullet notes, a file, Notion or Google Drive. It can rewrite to make it easier to say, simpler, more energetic or more professional, and fit it to 15s, 30s, 1, 1.5 or 3 minutes. You see the before and after, then accept or reject.
- Speech is recognized on your Mac, and the audio never leaves it.
Pricing: The prompter is free forever. Pro is $9/mo for voice-follow, every AI tool and 60 AI credits a month. Extra
credits are $5 for 80, and they never expir
How it changed: It started as a plain auto-low came after I kept losing my place. The AItools came after I noticed that writing the script took longer than recording it.
It's macOS only for now. Windows and Linux are coming. I'd love to hear what you'd use it for and what's missing. I'm here all day to answer questions.

I tested it, and it's really valuable.
One comment: I spent a lot of time trying it before realising that I had to toggle "show in the notch".
I believe it could be helpful to have a more contrasting button for that and also a button to start scrolling.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. The “show in notch” step definitely isn’t obvious enough right now. I’ll look into making that more prominent and adding quick controls for starting/pausing the scroll directly in the notch.

Keep the text column narrow, as possible when you are setting it up. Wide paragraphs make your eyes move back and forth across the screen while you are speaking. A tight formatting box keeps your eyes focused in the middle of the webcam hardware.

actually, we do have an option to resize the notch between sm, md, and lg. would love to see you using it
