A smarter way to share food in your neighbourhood Every day, households prepare more food than they can consume. Meanwhile, community helpers such as security guards, housekeeping staff, drivers and domestic workers often go without a warm meal. HoodEats bridges that gap. Donors post surplus food listings with pickup details and a time window. Receivers, anyone in the community, can browse and claim what they need. Simple, quick, and entirely local. No money changes hands. No middlemen.

Hi Product Hunt! π
I'm a Grade 12 student and the builder of HoodEats.
The idea started with a simple question: What happens to the extra food sitting in our homes when someone nearby could use it?
I wanted to build something that could make sharing easier, but also make it local and trusted.
That's how HoodEats came about: a food-sharing app designed specifically for apartment and gated communities, where residents can share extra food with neighbours and community helpers.
Today, HoodEats is live on Google Play. π
This is our first public launch, and I'd love to hear from the Product Hunt community:
Would you use something like HoodEats in your apartment or neighbourhood? What would make you trust and use it regularly?
I'd really value your feedback!
