May 28 (part 2): Their customer service person is very rude (not sure if they are human or robot) -- not only they did not help process refund or answer any questions I have, but they also keep asking me to "read the refund policy". Well, I had to call my card company and cancel my credit card. They have wasted my money and time -- calling the bank, waiting for the new card and re-linking the new card to existing autopay for other merchants. So, farewell, Mango and Inkflow --- no tech product is so invincible that you cannot ignore your customers. Given this experience with you, I would never use your product(s) again. Thanks but no thanks! May 28 (part 1): Originally I did not intend to write additional comments anymore. Just another product. But yesterday, their holding company Mango sent me a receipt, charging me for ANOTHER month for Inkflow. I already said here that this product was not ready yet for what they claim they can do. I am happy to try it again when it is a better product. But to keep charging me and when I voiced the problem and asked for refund, their bot just sent me to the link where I can discontinue the service -- which I only used once, and the experience was not at all good -- they refused to refund. This is not only poor service, but also unethical business practice. I recommend to those interested not to try Inkflow and even their associated Mango products. April 29: I exclusively use the custom book function, and my feedback pertains SOLELY to this feature as the first-time user. Despite its promise as "the new frontier of book writing," the output falls short. The generated books are noticeably brief, certainly not the advertised 100,000 words. More concerning is the quality of the content, which is inferior to what I've experienced with ChatGPT. With ChatGPT, I can specify the tone, style, voice, and even provide examples before the first draft is generated. In contrast, with your product, I'm only prompted to input a title and chapter outlines, resulting in a very generic output. The process is swift—just five minutes—but the quality is mediocre. It's more effective to use ChatGPT to draft and refine each chapter individually, adding a personal touch that significantly enhances the overall quality. This approach might take hours or days, but the end product is far more valuable, clearly reflecting personal effort. April 30: (updated per reply here and via email): I perceive your response as defensive. While I appreciate your comments, I was merely recounting my honest initial experience with the product. My intention was not to disparage your team but to share my first impressions openly. Feedback, especially in a beta phase, is crucial for improvement. Constructive criticism, like mine, should be viewed by your CEO and Product Manager as valuable insights for enhancing both the product and its positioning for new users. Additionally, I have already responded to your email, requesting access to your Slack channel, which is not mentioned on your website but could be a helpful resource. I also suggested ways to try another book project using your product with your assistance, hoping for an improved experience that justifies revising the rating here. Moreover, I suggested adding one or two video tutorials to your site, a common practice among tech companies that could significantly aid new users. These suggestions were made both publicly and privately after you reached out to me. I take my book project seriously, just as you are deeply committed to your product. Your defensive tone seems to stem from this commitment.
