Hey Hunters! I'm Kane, Founder of Linkly AI. It's 2026, and I think clipping tools are due for an update. I used to use several well-known clipping software for a long time, but I stopped using all of them a few years ago. This is because I found the biggest problem with these clipping software was that they too easily led to information overload, and collecting thousands of items over a year meant I almost never looked at them again. "Read Later" became "Never Read." I think the key to this problem was that in the past, there was no way to quickly process so much information after information overload. But this year, after using Codex as my gateway for work, analysis, and discussion, I found this problem was suddenly solved. The web pages and articles we see online can be roughly divided into three categories: 1. Worthless 2. So valuable they need to be read immediately 3. Potentially useful For those "potentially useful" web pages, I used to save them, which is what previous clipping software did. So why did I decide to redevelop a clipping extension? 1. Existing clipping software is cloud-based, which is not very friendly for Agents to read, making it difficult for Codex to conveniently read and modify them. 2. Many software save in formats other than plain text like Markdown. 3. Most importantly: It's 2026, and I don't want to pay for this type of software anymore. So I developed this browser extension. It's part of my knowledge base software, Linkly AI, but it can be used completely independently. It's been in beta testing within our user community for a month now, and many people have found it to be excellent, already rebuilding their reading workflows based on this extension. Today, I'm officially launching it on Product Hunt, and I hope you Hunters can also experience its magic.

does it keep the original page title and url at the top of the markdown file? that would make old clips easier to find later

The clean-Markdown part is what I'd actually use — when I hand a web page to an agent as raw HTML, most of what it reads is nav, ads and layout noise, not the article itself. One click from the page I'm already on, straight from the side panel, with copy or download, keeps it in the flow of reading instead of turning it into a separate scraping step. Simple and lightweight is the right call for a tool like this.

Being able to preview the Markdown before saving is a useful touch. I'd want to check what's actually going into the knowledge folder, especially on a cluttered page.
