Listening.io

This is a subscription scam. There's no way to cancel the subscription plan on the website. I even emailed the support and there's no one answering. You can't cancel the plan! Then the service also sucks. There's way better alternatives out there like Speechify.

It's obviously still in development and definitely needs a few more updates before it becomes even remotely usable. For academic papers, it sucks. For plain text files, it sucks. PDFs? I hope you like researching gibberish.

Listening.io seems to be a scam. I first introduced my credit card to create an account and access the 2 weeks free trial. They did not charge me anything but there is no way of canceling the subscription, as they say on their web page. There is no Cancel button. To avoid any charges, I have canceled my credit card. You can feed the account with PDF for listening to them but it does not work as well as they say.

Good idea, catchy marketing, terrible execution, or rather rushed to get a product to market. Uploading via link and PDF is extremely slow; I forgot about it and went back to check my account, but there's no settings on subscription or the credit card kept on file. No chance to review payment details, or emails, updates, welcome notes for new user on-boarding. Like come on, this is essential in the digital product space! Please stay away if you value your time and money, their business model can even be described as predatory. I took a video grab when I cancelled the account to show as evidence to my bank in case they continue to charge me.

the voice resembles human like voice, althought tonation and pitch may seem awkward at times. but overall its accetable and i enjoy the app!

Its a good idea but not there yet. - NLM links not consistently split into sections - no feature to connect institutional access with websites to allow access to full text articles - unable to upload pdfs from phone app
