Hi everyone! Today I’m launching MelonSound for macOS! 🍈🔈🎶
MelonSound is an AI music studio that is capable on generating full, high fidelity music tracks locally on your mac, with support for both instrumental tracks and vocals in 50+ languages.
I built MelonSound because most AI music tools feel like renting creativity with monthly subscriptions, usage limits, data mining and where I feel unsure if I even own my own output or not. MelonSound flips that model.
Everything runs locally on your Mac. 🔐
That means:

Honestly not at a point where I’d use AI music for my own project yet, but this is definitely something I want to play with for myself. Already thinking about what prompts to throw at it!

And super cool to hear that it sparked ideas for you. It's such an exciting time to be creating and experimenting right now!

I'm also a big fan of one-time cost simplicity. However, some people may think the price is too steep for their usage. If there was an option to buy a one month license at $10, those folks wouldn't go away empty handed.
Sometimes people need a tool just for a short time and can only justify a small spend. They may use it for a month, cancel, then need it a few months later and get another license. Or they may discover that they are using it continually and decide it makes more sense to buy the one-time full purchase.

For now I am very much committed to the one time payment model. I will say, though, that I have seen a few other products combine this with a subscription model so that users can choose for themselves based on their needs. This could maybe be an option in the future. On top of that I am also exploring ways of offering a free trial version and what that might look like. There are a few other things in the pipe before I will be able to really get to this, but it is definitely something that is actively on my mind.
