In addition to the cool name, and great new perspective to work/chat/collab experience, I adore how you nicely mention people who helped you and the tools you use :)
And now for the feedback:
1. Tasks and daily chats are great, I can see this as a major pain point for many remote/hybrid teams.
Even though in Slack you can technically achieve similar behavior using a bot + chat named daily, having a focus in the actual tool is way better in many ways.
2. "Physical space" is not something I would use a lot, but might be useful for some teams I guess.
3. Having a whiteboard to load within the app would be nice to have
4. A decent search capabilities
5. It would be nice to have a home section next to the "tasks" button. Use case:
The section would have a grid of links (like apps on mac os or bigger cards). This would be useful to have a common place for the team to have a single place with all assets, be it a notion page, docs, other links, etc.
Number 5 is my personal favorite (after number 1, of course 😅) because I switched from Slack to JetBrains Space for a few reasons:
1. Losing my history and not being able to search properly for what I didn't lose yet. (Noor doesnt have such issue as far as I can tell)
2. It was nice to have everything work related in one place. Although, now I realize there is too much clutter in JetBrains Space, so whatever you add to Noor, please make sure it's really needed there, or let people hide it.
3. Kanban board, actually not just the board, but the fact how easy it is to share tasks with the team and invite them to a task by mentioning the person and following the discussion in the chat. In other tools, you would have to share links, go to another tool in the browser, and go back to discuss the task, etc. Whilst this is a nice feature, I believe it is not a good fit for Noor, just mentioning why we switched to JetBrains Space.
> A lot of people told us that don't compete with big players
A lot of people say the same for what we are doing, but hopefully in 5-6 months we will release a great competitor :)
I am seriously looking into this, and I do agree it's time! Interface already looks better than Slack! Congratulations on your launch! New Noor user here! 🚀🚀🚀
This team ships! At @todesktop we've been using Noor since the early days and they have been uber-responsive to feature requests and bug reports. This is legitimately a Slack replacement! It's clear that Mo and the team have thought deeply about what small teams need to truly excel.
Favourite feature? The tasks feature with Linear integration makes it easy to see what everyone is working on. Before, we tried doing a text "standup" on Slack every morning but the Tasks feature on Noor is 10x better.
Keep up the amazing work, and best of luck Mo + team! Excited to see what features are coming to Noor next!
This is looking really good! I've downloaded the Mac app and it's lightning fast🤯 I'm wondering if you have plans to support non-business community groups? The per user pricing might struggle to support that I think but worth asking.
Noor is a toolbox for remote work, designed for tranquil communication. The app is only 8mb. Its interace is thoughtful, grouping members by time zones, and allowing for collapsible threads. It innovates with an "nudge" feature, signaling critical conversations. Borrowing from PKM tools, daily chats are pegged to specific dates, providing an intuitive snapshot of progress. User presence is visually signified, so you know when not to bother someone.
Noor places emphasis on SOPs, acknowledging their non-negotiable importance for scalability, particularly in remote contexts. Task synchronization is seamless with an API integration between Noor and Linear. The app encourages continuous innovation, from summarizing audio calls, to integrating dashboard views into channels.
Noor is highly customizable, adapting to user preferences and language. If you’re scarred by people pinging you Slack, this is the comms tool for you. Noor's team listens to users and ships delightful features and bug fixes daily.
I can see it so much better than slack. But I have a question:
When will the mobile app be released. I don't fully see it's purpose unless I can stay on top of updates through the mobile app
Congratulations on your project's launch! The design and user experience are outstanding. Can you share any insights into your future plans and how you plan to grow your user base?
