Hi everyone! I'm Joel, the indie developer/founder of OnTrack Money. I'm really excited to finally share it here.
Why build another budgeting app? I wanted something that would help me follow through on the budget I made. For me, the useful part is sitting down, deciding where our money should go, and keeping that plan visible as life happens.
My wife and I use OnTrack together. It gives us something concrete to look at when we talk about spending, priorities, and what we want to save for. That act of stewarding our money together means a lot to me, and it's a big part of why I believe in what I'm building.
You can get financial analysis by connecting your bank to an AI assistant. I wanted to build a place for the ongoing decisions too: plan the month, track purchases against individual budget lines, split a purchase when it covers more than one thing, and see what's left to spend.
OnTrack draws on the monthly planning approach I liked in EveryDollar. It works on iPhone and in your desktop browser. I especially enjoy using it on desktop, where the budget and transactions sit side by side and there's room to work through the month.
Core budgeting is free, with no bank connection required. That includes entering and splitting transactions, intelligent tracking suggestions, recurring budget lines, notes, search, and exports.
If you want more automation, Pro adds bank sync and transaction rules. You can also choose to connect ChatGPT or Claude to ask about your budget and transactions. Those connections are optional. The goal is to save repetitive work while you stay involved in the decisions.
Pro is $12.99/month or $99/year USD. Eligible U.S. App Store subscribers can try the annual plan free for 14 days, then $99/year. It renews automatically unless canceled in App Store subscription settings.
It's early days, and I'm moving fast. There's a lot of opportunity for me to shape the product around the feedback I'm getting, including yours. I'd love for you to try it and tell me what feels useful, what's frustrating, and what would make it easier to keep budgeting.
Thanks for taking a look. I'm happy to answer questions!
Joel
