Pastea is a clipboard history manager for macOS. It saves every link, snippet and screenshot you copy, so you can search, pin and paste it back in seconds.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m Hamza, maker of Pastea 🥤
I’ve been using clipboard managers for a long time, but I kept running into the same problem: the more things I copied, the harder it became to actually find and reuse them.
So we built Pastea, a smarter clipboard manager for macOS that helps you not only save what you copy, but actually do more with it.
Pastea remembers your text, links, images, code, colors, files, and screenshots, and gives you better ways to find and reuse them.
Some of the things we focused on:
🔎 Smarter search: search by content, source app, type, date, and more.
⚡️ Inline shortcuts: assign something like `@email` or `@signature` to a clip and paste it directly while typing.
📌 Lists & collections: organize useful clips into dedicated spaces for projects, research, writing, marketing, development, or anything else.
👀 Quick Preview: bring up Pastea near your cursor and paste without constantly switching context.
✨ Useful actions: extract text from images, rewrite or translate text, remove image backgrounds, and more.
🔒 Privacy first: your clipboard history stays on your Mac, with controls for what Pastea should and shouldn’t save.
We’ve tried to make Pastea feel less like a giant archive of copied things and more like a tool that makes your everyday copy/paste workflow faster.
There’s a 7-day free trial, so you can try the full experience before deciding if it fits your workflow.
This is still the beginning, and Product Hunt feedback would genuinely help us decide what to improve next.
If you try Pastea, I’d especially love to know:
What’s the one thing you wish your clipboard manager did better?
Thanks for checking us out 💜🥤

@hamza_ait_darhem congrats on the launch ! I'm wondering how screenshots are handled. does the text extraction run on everything, so that an old screen capture can show up in search by what was written in it ?
@clement_avq Thanks! 🙌 Not automatically for screenshots that were already on your Mac before installing Pastea. You’d need to copy those screenshots first so they get added to Pastea. Once they’re there, we extract the text inside them, so you can later find them just by searching for something that was written in the screenshot

congrats on the launch @@flowko@hamza_ait_darhem the app looks nice, looking forward to try it! how do you manage privacy of the data!
Privacy was a big priority for us with Pastea. Your clipboard history is stored locally on your Mac, and we don’t upload or store your copied content.
You can also exclude specific apps or sensitive content from being saved. If you enable iCloud sync, your data is synced through your own iCloud account across your Macs.
Really excited to see Pastea out in the wild 🥤 A lot of thought and work went into making everyday copy/paste workflows faster and genuinely more useful. Excited to see where it goes from here and, most importantly, what people think of it. Give it a try and share your feedback! 🚀
