Hey Product Hunt fam, I wanted to share the backstory behind this project. It all started when I noticed how challenging it was for developers (especially jobseekers and students) to showcase their private GitHub projects without compromising security. I was juggling between publicizing a repo (which wasn’t ideal) and manually inviting collaborators, and it just felt clunky. One day, while browsing GitHub discussions, I came across multiple threads where folks were frustrated about this very issue. That’s when it hit me: what if we could create a secure, temporary link that grants view-only access to a private repo? No cloning, no downloading, just a neat preview for recruiters, professors, or potential collaborators. I dug into GitHub’s fine-grained tokens and the Signed URL concept, and the pieces started to click. This project is my way of making that hassle disappear—a lightweight, secure solution that keeps your repos private while letting you control access easily. I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any cool use cases you see for it. Let’s get a discussion going! Happy to chat more about it!
