Spin a free 3D globe, play a country’s live radio, or dig to the other side of Earth. Leave a light for a friend, family member, pet or idol you’ve lost. Exploring is free and needs no account.

Hi Product Hunt! I’m Ashwin, a solo maker in India, and this is Planet-X: a free, living 3D planet that runs in your browser. Nothing to install, no account needed to explore.
I built it because every map app treats Earth as a flat surface for directions. I wanted the opposite: a planet you can hold, spin and poke at, where every country has something live going on right now.
Things to try, each one tap away:
• Dig straight down from where you stand and see where you come out on the other side of the Earth.
• Guess where — listen to a mystery radio station and drop a pin where you think it’s playing.
• Answer today’s World Question, then see how every country answered.
• Listen to live radio from any country.
• Watch live TV from any country.
• Look outside through live webcams around the planet.
• Read today’s news, country by country.
• Draw a quote of the day from somewhere on Earth, and collect a passport stamp for every new country.
• Bury a secret in a country of your choice. Nobody sees who wrote it, and it is found only by digging.
• Start a squad — a small world within the world for your people.
• Remember someone — explore the lights people have left across the planet in memory of someone special.
• Click a little plane towing a banner across the planet, or read the true stories people have left in places.
You can also explore any country directly, like Japan, and share the exact view you’re looking at with a friend.
I’d love honest feedback, especially the unflattering kind.
What was the first thing that confused you?
The dig through the planet and the lights for people you miss are an odd, lovely pair, Ashwin. Congrats on shipping it. When I leave a light for my grandfather, does it show up on everyone else's globe too?
@w_fan Thank you, that’s kind. And yes: when you leave a light for your grandfather, it stands at the place you choose on the globe, and anyone who comes across it can open and read it. It’s meant to be a small public place to remember someone, not a private note.
Everything goes through a quick safety check first. Most lights appear right away, and if anything is flagged, a person reviews it before it shows. I’m sorry for your loss, and I’d be glad to have his light there.
Does it have Greek radio stations? And who picks which stations show up for each country?
@adamvisu Yes! There are over 1,300 Greek radio stations on Planet-X, from Zeppelin 106.7 and SKAI 100.3 to 1055 Rock in Thessaloniki. Just open Greece on the globe and play a station!
The stations come from Radio Browser, a free, community-maintained directory. Planet-X automatically displays stations that are working and stream securely, with the most-listened-to first.
Missing your favourite Greek station? You can add it at radio-browser.info, and it may appear once the directory verifies it. If you find a station that shouldn’t be listed, let me know and I’ll hide it!
@ashwin_c5 1,300 is way more than I expected. Will give Zeppelin a try
It took me a moment to grasp the idea of "digging to the other side of the Earth"
I hadn't realized it was so interesting)
@maria_anosova Thank you, Maria! That’s really useful feedback. The idea is simple: if you could dig straight through the centre of the Earth, where would you come out? Most people would end up in the ocean, so landing on land feels like a small win!
What would have helped you understand it sooner? Was it the name “Dig Straight Down,” or would seeing your destination before starting have made more sense?
This is very cool! I am not sure why, but the digging down was fun 😂
@the_nimesh Haha, thanks, Nimesh! I’m not sure why either, but almost everyone ends up digging more than once!
Try it from Spain. You’ll come out on land in New Zealand, which is one of the few places where that happens. Where did you end up?
@ashwin_c5 I landed about 200 miles from NZ in the ocean! I mean.. I do like swimming tbf 🤣
@the_nimesh Haha, swimming is still a win 😄 Most of the time you’ll end up in the ocean anyway! Try digging from Wellington, New Zealand. You’ll actually come out on land in Spain 😂 Let me know where you end up! You can also hit “Share this” and send your dig to a friend to try.
@ashwin_c5 awesome, nice one! Will play around with it!
Honest first-minute feedback from Japan: English isn't my first language, so that's part of it, but I couldn't tell what I was supposed to do first. I saw a link that said "here," tapped it, and got a login screen, which surprised me since your post says no account is needed to explore. What is that "here" link meant to do?
@nobuhiko Thank you, Nobuhiko! This is genuinely helpful feedback.
You’re right that the first step should be clearer. Planet-X has several things you can explore for free, without creating an account, including digging straight through the Earth, guessing locations, exploring countries, and listening to radio stations and watch live tv from around the world.
You can start here: https://planet-x.world/?dig=share
Or explore countries directly: https://planet-x.world/?c=JP
I’ll also check the link that took you to the login screen and make the starting point clearer. Thanks for giving Planet-X a try and sharing your honest feedback!
@ashwin_c5 Thank you! I tried the dig link. I came out in the South Atlantic Ocean. But my start point was also in the sea :)
