it's a fun, pure novelty idea in the same vein as the million dollar homepage - a shared retro desktop where you buy a permanent icon spot for $10 or bid to control the background song. no real utility beyond the fun of owning a tiny piece of a shared internet artifact, but that's the whole point and it's honestly executed well
