I'm a property manager and use Rhino for tenants.... When it works, it is good... I have successfully been paid out on claims I've filed for..... BUT.... Customer service is almost non existent if you have any sort of REAL issues, and what you do get is very low quality and frustrating. Contacting Rhino for any issues whatsoever is a maddening affair. The "Chat Bot" is COMPLETELY asinine and useless for any kind of help. It is clear the company PURPOSELY makes customer service an endless loop and lengthy frustrating affair of email-only response.... Live help is near IMPOSSIBLE to get.
I've noticed they only really approve tenants with credit scores in the "Good" range. Any less than 680 credit score and it starts to get IFFY whether or not the potential tenant will be "Declined for SDI". But if people already have good credit scores, the need for the whole thing is eliminated and makes it mostly unnecessary. The majority of renters in my area fall between 580 and 670 for a credit score, so I get a LOT of "Declined for SDI" when running quotes to see if an applicant can afford it or if they even get approved at all. I even had one applicant with a credit score of 720 "Declined for SDI" which honestly is an outlier, but strange.
The coverage idea is GREAT but the company itself is run like COMPLETE shyt.... So I can't give it more than 2 stars the way it is.
I have started switching to using competitors with better approval rates, and may dump Rhino altogether at some point if the whole thing doesn't get any better.
