Hey there! My name is Cameron, and I created Salesforce Data Generator, the best way to quickly and effectively populate your Salesforce org with mock data. The idea came about when I was tasked with building a Salesforce app at work. I had zero previous experience with Salesforce, so there was a steep learning curve. A few months into building the app, it occurred to me that I would need some way to demo the app with data that our customers would find realistic. This would take tens of hours to do manually, so that was out of the question. After doing some research, it was clear that the established ways of getting mock data into Salesforce were either overly complicated or ineffective. For a company and community who preach "clicks, not code," I was surprised there was no functionality to create, manage, and delete fake data in a salesforce org. I needed the following: - An intuitive solution with a modern UI - No programming or database knowledge needed - Extremely customizable data (custom objects, custom fields, control over how the data looks and is distributed) - Related records. This is a huge one! I needed a tool in which I could set up two, three, or even four objects at once and have them each be linked to each other (parent to child to grandchild to great grandchild) The product today is a result of that product need. After making my first sales, I received great feedback and added even more features. Among other changes, the app allows you to reuse past configurations and delete records created with the app (in case you click "go" then have an "oops!" moment). Go ahead and check it out!
