Hey Product Hunt, Today we are launching Settl. Most people already use something like Splitwise for this, and it works fine. The bit that never got easier is the entering - Payer, amount, currency, who was there, how to divide it. It’s a two second thought attached to a much longer bit of tapping. So Settl is the version where you just say it. You can hold the mic and describe the spend the way you would to a friend, in whatever language you think in and whatever currency you actually paid. It even handles the awkward ones, statements like "eighty for ramen, but Dev had two bowls" and shows you what it worked out before anything saves - It takes 80 dollars (if dollars is your default currency), splits it three ways, one share on you, and two shares on Dev (including the taxes and tips proportionally shared). So Dev owes you $53.33. Dev receives a notification. Receipts work the same way. Point the camera at one and say who had what. She had the pad thai, he had the curry, we shared the wine. It reads the line items, assigns them, and spreads tax and service charge proportionally rather than evenly, which is the bit people get wrong doing it by hand. Settl also has an MCP, so Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, or any other tool of choice can log an expense or read your balances from the same ledger your flatmates or friends have on their phones. If you already keep receipts and trip notes in an AI tool, the splitting stops being a separate errand somewhere else. The rest is what we needed ourselves: multi currency that remembers what you actually paid, settle ups that work out the fewest transfers, undo on everything, and an import if you are coming from Splitwise. It is free right now, but it may not be free forever, because every request costs us something and we would rather tell you that than find out together later. Filling a sheet (which doesn’t need an AI) stays free forever regardless. One thing's for sure though - Settl has almost full parity with Splitwise and we will never charge you for these features. Hey Product Hunters,

We've mostly shown this to friends and family so far. The reaction is the same every time: the first time someone logs an expense by just saying it out loud, its WOW.

One of them said it'd be great for poker night, where they've been tracking everything in a notebook for years. Hadn't thought of that at all.
