Describe your device in plain English and siliXon takes it all the way to a routed, manufacturable PCB, built for anyone with an idea, not only engineers. In minutes. Rocky, our design agent, asks what it needs to know, then picks real, purchasable components, places them, draws the schematic and routes the copper. Edit in 2D and 3D, or just ask Rocky. Every board must pass engineering checks before it goes to manufacture, and the design files are yours.
I like how siliXon makes PCB design easier for people who may not have an engineering background. Being able to describe an idea in plain English and turn it into a board you can actually manufacture is really useful. I also like that you can make edits and check the design in both 2D and 3D.
What needs improvement
It would be helpful to have more beginner-friendly examples and step-by-step guidance for first-time users. Clear explanations of component choices and design checks would also make it easier to understand the process and feel confident before ordering a board.
vs Alternatives
I would consider traditional PCB design tools, but they can take time to learn, especially if you are new to circuit design. siliXon looks like a good option for getting started without having to figure out every technical detail yourself.
Hey Product Hunt! I’m Mihai, co-founder of siliXon.
This started as a passion project while I was studying at Cambridge. Someone asked me what I disliked most about my time in industry, and it was easy to pinpoint it: the software. In industry, we spent a lot of time in LTspice and EasyEDA, I spent hours just trying to get the tools to let me do what I already knew I wanted.
So the first version was just a nicer interface for designing circuits. Then we won a hackathon, and the goal got much bigger: let the whole world design electronics, not only engineers.
That’s what siliXon is today. You describe a device in plain English, and Rocky, our design agent, asks what it needs to know. Then it picks real parts you can actually buy, places them, draws the schematic and routes the board. You can edit everything in 2D and 3D or just ask Rocky to change it. Every board has to pass engineering checks before you send it off to be made, and the design files are yours.
To be upfront: we’re in early beta. We've grown the team to almost 10 people after closing our funding round in April. Right now siliXon makes 2- and 4-layer boards and works best on mostly digital designs. Analogue support is still limited, so check your board carefully before you order it.
I’d love to hear from you:
- What’s the most frustrating part of designing a PCB for you?
- What’s the first board you’d build with siliXon?
I’ll be in the comments all day, and our Discord is open if you get stuck.

@mihai_silixon Wow! what a fantastic idea! Can users export prompts they had used for generation? or design history? Because this sounds like a tool on which future inventions may be invented!. A cofounder may ask questions about who came up with what and that would be important for hardware founders
@e_p_johnson_esgenix Hey, thanks for the comment. Yes, we allow users to export it directly to a manufacturer, or export to their own files and open the files up in say Kicad. And vice versa!
Hey Product Hunt Community! Bach here; I am the other co-founder of siliXon. Building the platform has been a blast so far, and we are currently in a Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI) loop as we ship fast and NOT break things. More community engagement and feedback will help us give more positive feedback to our RSI. As my co-founder @mihai_silixon said, please interact and give as much feedback as possible. We collect and read every single one to get a sense of what the community want or to get signals on things they don't even know they need yet. Happy Designing!
Hey Product Hunt, Filip here, one of the founding engineers at siliXon.
We're building siliXon to help more people make their own electronics. You might seen us on social media or someone told you about us, we help you with design end to end PCB boards, till u get a working board in ur hand.
